Very happy with this guitar

I spent a long time researching hollow-bodies and considered the JSM-10 for months before pulling the trigger a few weeks ago. I'm extremely happy I did. 1) I'm not a humbucker person. I own a Gibson and hate the farty, muddled low end on it. I've never really played a humbucker I've loved. These pickups are so bright, clear, and complex compared to other humbuckers that it feels like I'm playing a hotter single coil but with more balance than a typical mids-heavy P90. And the low-end is clear and big. Add the tri-sound switch and dual tone/volume controls and you get more tones across the continua of single coil to humbucker than I've figured out yet. I won't say that the single coil setting makes me forget about my Fenders but it's a perfect humbucker pickup for single coil players. Pretty quickly, I found a bridge setting I like and I rarely like playing the bridge pup. The neck and middle positions are wonderful. 2) The build quality is incredible. I was really hesitant to pull the trigger on a MIC or Indonesia guitar. Turned out to be a really stupid concern. The quality is equal to my MIA Strat and MIM Tele and it's miles ahead of my Gibson LP (though to be fair, I bought all those used). The fret edges are smoother than on my Warmoth neck. The neck joint is flawless. There are no blemishes I can see anywhere. The knobs and switches feel substantial and reliable. Only the G tuning peg feels loose but still much better than my Gibson. So far no intonation issues that I can find. No wolf tones or dead spots. It's light, though since I'm new to semi-hollows I'm not sure how it stacks up to similar semis. 3) Aesthetically, it's gorgeous. Great top, lovely binding, and the staining on the back of the neck is a great touch. The abalone inlays are a nice touch. I don't love gold hardware but it works on this. Just look at the photos. Sounds amazing, built to last, plays fast, looks great. BUY THIS GUITAR

Very nicely made, great finish and attention to detail. Pickups are very good and the sound overall is excellent. The guitar has good playability but I did have a bit of challenge with getting setup exactly as I like. May eventually change the bridge with a Gotoh 510 which has individual string height adjustment. Otherwise a very nice guitar and a great value.
Update and word of warning

I have had this guitar for over a year and still really like it. I have gigged with it many times and it has performed perfectly. Love the versatility (I have played everything from White Stripes to Jazz with it) and the quality. One word of caution. Guitar Center was not able to get me a replacement case. Not sure what the problem was, but be aware. If you have a defective case, don't accept shipment.

I've had this guitar for about a month. It is a very nice instrument. Very easy to play and great sound. These guitars are typically used for Jazz, but it really screams with overdrive and has nice sustain. I did take it to my local tech for adjustments. He recut the nut on the high E string and polished a few frets. It seems necessary with the MIC guitars. Overall, no complaints and it has met my expectations. This guitar has a somewhat beefy feel to the neck, so you will want to be aware of this. For comparison, it is thicker than the AS73 and AS93. I think it is more similar to my AMV10 in thickness. The pickups are very responsive and much better than those found on the Artcore models (Ibanez seems to use the Super 58 name loosely. The pickups are vastly different on the JSM10 than the AS93). The only problem that I had was with the case, which has a broken clasp. GC is ordering a replacement, so no big deal if they follow through.
Might try a Japanese model next.

Nice guitar had to do fret leveling, major intonation adjusting and nut work. But it's a well made instrument. Just needed some serious tweaking.
Very Good Guitar

I could not give this guitar 5 stars because of the fretwork. Lately, the higher end Ibanez guitars (excluding Japan) have needed professional fret leveling. I play solo guitar for 2 and 3 sets and must have low action. Low and accurate. I had the same problem with my GB 40thII. That said this instrument is in a dead heat with my 335. The finish and workmanship are top notch. The tone and response of this guitar are superb. It is definitely a better guitar than the other AS series guitars.
