The Ibanez Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar is made in Japan with typical Ibanez flair and remarkable craftsmanship. It‘s a fine instrument, designed to satisfy and inspire both the established performer and one waiting in the wings. This exceptional player features a shapely basswood body in a striking finish.

The JS 3pc maple/bubinga neck provides stability and a longer sustain. Its rosewood fretboard has Pearl dot inlays and 24-fret. The Prestige fret edge treatment of the frets allow for smooth playability. The newly developed DiMarzio Satchur pickup is equipped in the bridge position to assist in achieving a more versatile playing style and sound.

The SUSTAINIAC Driver in the neck position is wired to “Stealth PRO” preamp specially customized for Joe. It allows endless sustain and expands the range of expression dramatically with a 3-way Sustainiac mode selector. Also featured is the legendary and original JS/Edge Tremolo that delivers Joe‘s favorite in feel and tone. A hardshell case included.

I own a JS 2450 and to date that has been my favorite guitar. It has a tremendous tonal range and the coil tapped humbuckers allow you to get at least 6-7 guitars worth of tone out of one. The Sustaniac integration is as close to perfect as I think you can get. Both pickups sound great and have very low noise and excellent dynamic range and power. The Sustaniac is a godsend to someone that records in the wee hours of the morning that needs massive tone. It can sound like a stack turned up to eleven at a volume just below a whisper. Controlling the resonance of the sustaniac only requires standard palm muting. I had full sonic control over it in less than 10 minutes. At high volumes, this guitar cuts thru the mix a bit more than the JS2450 series. I think it would make it more ideal for a power trio than its immediate predecessor. The body's resonant character is even present unplugged when performing an A/B comparison to my 2450. It might be a little understated in looks other than the super gloss red paint, but it's a definite sleeper! Setup, action, and Edge tremolo are just like all of the Japan-built JS series. Excellent string action impressive tuning stability despite my silliness. The fretwork and fingerboard are flawless. When I need a more strat tone, I will pick up the JS2450 because of the coil tap on the neck pickup, but otherwise, this is the guitar to beat in the lineup. I waited 5 months for it to arrive but after playing it, I would have been willing to wait a year. It's that good!!!
