Great for beginners and room to grow

Got this for christmas, and I have to say I am extremely satisfied with it. The guitar, for one, looks awesome: really a beautiful instrument. It smudges easily, so get a cleaning cloth with it. The sound is excellent; the pickups let you play with the sound, the tone is clean, and the sustain is impressive. Suprisingly, the included strings are also pretty nice (most packs, and even guitars I have seen, come with pretty lousy strings). The amp is quite loud and plenty if you are playing by yourself or jamming with a friend, but you will probably need a bigger one for performances. A gripe about the amp: only one instrument input. However, it does have component input, which is great for plugging in your lesson dvds or cds and playing along. The distortion is very, very nice. The included perks like the gigbag, suprisingly good quality headphones, and picks give you everything you need to get started and really add to the value. Really a great pack.

fair product

I recieved this starter "pak" for my birthday and I have to say it is an excellent start for all you beginning rock guitarists out there. For the most part it's okay but what really bugs me is the amp and tuner. The amp provides sound but the tone is the worst I have ever had the misfortune to hear. If you turn up the gain to get the distortion sound most of the time you get feedback. The clean tone is sort of meh and the tuner is so inaccurate, the guitar is actually pretty good though, and the little book that has all the riffs is pretty nifty too.....

This was my first electric. After years of playing, this guitar is still one of my favorites. The quality is unbeatable for the price. The amp that it comes with is a bit cheap, but it does the job for a starting player. It whistles at high gain but everything else functions fine. The guitar is built solid, has sturdy pickups, a nice paintjob (although I recently sanded off the paint to expose a surprisingly nice wood finish below) and would be perfect for any beginner or intermediate guitar player.

When i first decided to learn guitar, this bundle was probably the cheapest way to be able to start. It has a guitar, amp, cable, everything. I've been playing for nearly 2 years now, and this guitar still works great. I have gotten a new amp and distortion pedal since then, but the guitar itself is quite good. I'm planning on buying a new guitar soon, since all the little bits, the pick-ups, the bridge, on this one are fairly basic. I'm pretty sure this guitar's pick-ups are only single-coil, not humbuckers, but to beginners this won't be anything of consequence. Anyway, I can't recommend this guitar enough to beginners. Excellent value.

i had this guitar for about a month now and its amazing! the body is awesome and the neck i think feels nice and easy to play. the pickups are good and the amp.. i would recommend this to a new guitarist! the only thing that's bad that comes with it is the tuner and the cable. Other than that its a good guitar package to start out with.

I loved Metal so much that I've decided to pick this up last February. This is the total package people to my perspective. The DVD and book are good after a couple weeks of noob training yet it all comes down to you improvizing your own riffs and songs The guitar is great for a beginning guitar. It gets dusty and easily handprinted to just keep it clean and maintained. It rarely goes off key, yet when it does that is what the auto-tuner is for. (its a basic tuner so i suggest get a better one if u wanna drop tune your strings.) The only dislike I have about it is that I wish it had a whammy bar so I could do some Dimebag sqealing. The high E string broke on me in June but i had some spare strings for that problem.(package doesn't come with spare strings) Guitar straps are basic. I was fooling around with it one time and the adjustor broke, so I practice without it.:( Amp is small yet loud and I love it. I always keep the gain(distortion) and bass to the max on it. The .73mm and 1mm picks i use. The .50 picks are too flimsy and 2 broke on me while i was jamming. No problems with the cord or headphones, but i lost the jack that lets the headphone go into the amp. Quality is much better with the headphones in though. Overall, Ibanez did a great job creating this package for upcoming guitarists, and i would recommend this package to any beginning guitarist.

the guitar was nice and played well.the reason i gave it 3 stars was because some of the black paint had faded off. I noticed this when I took it out of the box. The amp was good and the headphones were great. Overall a great deal for the price.
