Ibanez

Description

The Ibanez BTB625EX electric bass takes select-grade materials, neck-thru construction and top quality components, and meticulously combines them into a stunning pro-level instrument. This inspiring yet affordable instrument is made with a 5-piece maple/walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rode for massive sustain and excellent stability, an ebonol fingerboard for a tight and bright sound, an okoume body and an MR5 bridge. Bartolini BH2 pickups provide a tight bottom-end, punchy mid-range and smooth response. The dual-coil style configuration maximizes articulation and a long blade pole piece widens the magnetic field, providing a balanced string-to-string pickup response. Plus, Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ offers simple, straightforward, no-nonsense EQ control. The Boost and Cut for the Mid Control are each centered on slightly different frequencies, an innovation that delivers a preset range of the most favorable bass tones.

Good bass for the money. It has a good range of tone from the three band EQ. It has a nice neck thru construction and the input jack lock is a nice addition so the cord stays in while rocking out on stage. I'm not a huge fan of the power tap switch because sometimes it can be hit by accident.

This was the first 5-String Bass I ever owned and it practically taught me all of the most difficult lines I can play. The all blacked-out look is great for metal, and the main electronics are perfect for heavier genres of music. The stainless-steel frets are extremely durable and last a long time. This bass is not very good for ghost notes or slapping. The body is uncomfortable for slapping positions and the pickups don't pick up the muted strings very well. Longer scale and wide string spacing are perfect for me, but not all musicians like it. Otherwise, this bass is definitely recommended.
