I love this banjo. I was apprehensive after looking at reviews about the tuners. I've come to notice that the tuners will move quickly if they are touched or bumped. But they hold no problem otherwise. The pictures on guitar center website are minimal and don't shoe what an amazing banjo this really is. It looks so beautiful and it sounds fantastic. A much darker full tone with the adding of medium guage strings just sound fantastic!

Will change to geared pegs if I can find some. Intonation up the neck a problem. Frets feel minimally crowned; rough on the hands compared to other banjo's

One of the tuners on this B300 didn't keep my string tuned. I've purchased all price range string instruments and this is the first instrument I've purchased that a string could go out of tune in the matter of seconds. The tuners that they have on this banjo must not be that great if one is already having issues.

I looked at several banjos before buying this one. I used to play banjo but got away from it for several years and played guitar. I knew what I wanted though and what to look for. I narrowed down to 2. Mayfair by Epiphone and this one. I chose this because of availability but I'm glad I did. Cant say anything about the Mayfair either way but I really like this one and I'm happy with my purchase. The inlay work looks very nice and it plays much better than I expected. I thought I might need to buy as lower bridge which is often the case in mid priced banjos but this one is fine right out of the box. No need to change a thing. Plays well all the way up the neck: sounds great with plenty of volume and twang. Not sure what to expect out of the purple heart fret board as UV light will turn it black over time but right now it is nothing short of gorgeous. The engraved arm rest is a nice bonus feature as well. The G or 5th string stays in tune well but the others need a little more tweaking than I'd prefer: could just be the strings. All in all I dont think you could go wrong buying this little beauty. Whether you are just learning or need a solid instrument for stage work I think you'll be happy. I know I am.

Is this an acoustic electric banjo? The Ibanez website lists a 1/4" output jack, but your website does not confirm that one can plug it in and play through an amp/PA system. Is this banjo ready to plug a 1/4" cable into and play on an amp?
This is just the acoustic version of the banjo. Email us at YourVoice@GuitarCenter.com and we can get you set up with the acoustic electric version.
