Thank you reviewers
First, thank you for all who previously reviewed this item. I selected this item based on them. My son (who this was a gift for) was frustrated with other triple stands that tipped and did not handle instruments left plugged in. His words: "It's definitely the most well designed guitar stand I've ever seen. Even with 3 guitars on it, it still only has the foot print of a single stand. That's because instead of angling the guitar backward it holds them perfectly vertical. And It holds my bass by itself which is my biggest and heaviest guitar. There's nothing blocking the input jacks so it passes all the tests. Good pick!"

I'll NEVER buy Hercules stands again!
I am a 63 year old and have been playing jobs since I was 23 years old. I am not Hard on my equipment. I have purchased several of these Hercules guitar stands, 2 singles and a triple and a couple for my band members. The concept is great and they are very good except 1 FATAL Flaw! The handle becomes brittle and breaks and the mechanism to catch the sliding arm no longer works. This has happened on 2 of the 3 I own and these are expensive stands. I have searched online looking for replacement parts and I have yet to find anything. I would have been interested in their mic stands and amp stands but I won't buy another product from them and feed poor quality control practices and design.

Height locking clamp failed

See review by Kenny P: "Overall, they are good items, but yesterday one of them failed; the plastic around the hinge pin that allows the height locking clamp to pivot has shattered." Same exact thing happened to mine. Unit is rarely moved, has never left my music room. I noticed today the height adjuster had snapped, feels like a tree sap substance on it now.

I bought this for moderate gigging - 2 to 3 times a month. I wanted something that would be sturdy enough to take the beating of traveling in a gear trailer or back of a van. This stand is okay generally. My issue is that it won't lock at the very last (highest) spot. It slips down one. I have an acoustic bass that hits the leg as a result which has actually chipped the finish. I've moved this unit to my music room & now use my basic, $25 guitar stand for performances.
One of mine failed, but I still like these!

I have several of these in my music room, where we keep many instruments at the ready! All are six years old, or newer. Overall, they are good items, but yesterday one of them failed; the plastic around the hinge pin that allows the height locking clamp to pivot has shattered. These stands are rarely moved (just for vacuuming, excuse the dust in the pictures below!) and never adjusted in height. As it doesn't appear to be a replaceable part, I'll cobble up something in the shop to get it going again. If I was performing live a bunch, I'd keep a close watch on this point of failure; all else appears sturdy. Note that the faux rubber coating that's been all the rage for the last decade has become very sticky after a few years. I wish manufacturers would leave that off (my DVR controller is a sticky mess!)
Solid stand for multiple guitars.

Solid sturdy stand. I use it in my home studio and onstage. I have three primary guitars I use during gigs and recording. Takes up less space then having three single stands or guitar cases on stage.
