Hercules AGS PLUS Series Guitar Stands And Hangers Lifestyle

Description
The Hercules GS412B PLUS Auto Grip guitar stand is an innovative stand that features an upgraded Auto Grip System yoke that can securely hold guitar necks of any width, from the narrowest ukulele to the widest bass. The height-adjustment mechanism allows you to set the stand at any height between 33.6"–42.3", so you can position your instrument at the perfect level for playing or display. When not in use, the foldable backrest provides a resting spot for your guitar's body.
Auto Grip System Accommodates Any Neck Width
The Auto Grip System uses a precisely calibrated tension mechanism to securely grip guitar necks of any width without marring the finish. Whether you play ukulele, mandolin, guitar or bass, the Auto Grip System can handle it. Enjoy the versatility of a stand that can hold all of your favorite instruments.
Adjustable Height for Ideal Playing Position
The height-adjustment mechanism makes it easy to set the stand at the perfect height for you. Raise or lower the yoke to anywhere between 33.6"–42.3" high, so you can keep your instrument at the ideal level for playing or displaying. The sturdy steel frame and non-slip feet provide a stable base at any height.
Foldable Backrest for Guitar Support
When the stand is not in use, the foldable backrest provides a convenient resting spot for your guitar's body. The backrest is made of the same specially formulated foam as the yoke to prevent scratches to your guitar's finish. When folded, the backrest allows for compact storage and portability.
Lightweight, Compact and Portable
Weighing just 3.7 lb., the GS412B PLUS Auto Grip single guitar stand is easy to transport and stow when not in use. The stand folds flat for storage and includes a carry handle for convenient portability. Keep your guitar secure and supported wherever you go with this versatile, lightweight stand.

Yes, I would purchase this stand again.
I needed a stable stand for my Warwick Thumb Bass. This beautiful hardwood instrument is heavy. The tripod legs of previous stands have cracked through continued use. My take on the heavy duty construction of the Hercules is that it will last a long time. The folding, locking and adjustment features are superior to any other stand I have encountered. I initially had concerns that the height may be a problem, The Warwick has a long neck and I was not sure if there was enough clearance - even at full extension - where it could hang in the stand during breaks with the cord still in the instrument without it scraping the ground. There is, after all, no cradle to hold the bass at a fixed distance from the floor. Luckily, this is not an issue. There is plenty of clearance from the ground with the cord still attached. The rig is well balanced for stability with the guitar in place. I have none of the fears that the instrument may topple over if bumped that I had with other stands I've used.

I wanted this to work so bad
I purchased this stand to use with a Flying V since standard stands seem to be lacking. The design looks promising for a V shaped guitar or Explorer. Unfortunately the backrest support arm is junk. It doesn't stay at the desired height with a friction ring as one would expect from the photos and common sense. It falls to the bottom of the stand each time and you have to raise and hold it in place each time you want to rest your guitar. I reached out to customer service at Hercules and they basically said it's suppose to be that way and I can just use a zip tie to hold the support arm in place if that's what I want.

This is being used for my guitars and bass on a church platform. We purchased because the typical stand was hitting the knobs on the bass and changing the tone settings. This stand, of course, doesn't touch the knobs. My guitars have a synth module attached, which makes it difficult to set in traditional stands, so I purchased for my guitar also. We like how it clamps around the neck after the weight of the instrument draws the head stock holder down.

I have three of these stands for my basses. I like how securely they hold the guitar. Both my electrics and my acoustic hang well on them. I have a Hercules stand for my 37" scale Ibanez BTB805MS and it fits just fine.
