Shock turns to Surprise turns to Seriously Satisfied

After reading many reviews I plugged my HR PedalBoard into it with high expectations. Despite that, I was still shocked at the way it filled the room with sound. I continued to feel surprise at how clear it was and, with the Fender-like patch I was using, how much it felt like the Hot Rod Deluxe III or IV in the way the sound hit my body and my ears. I went on to use several other patches going from Genuine and Modeled Acoustic clean or wet effects, Electric HB's and SC's cleans to varying degrees of OD and Distortion and everything sounded great. Prior to getting this, I had been running my HRPB into a Yamaha mixer which fed two Harbinger PA speakers and even though I was satisfied with the end result, this little 108 feels like it could easily keep up with the Harbingers in volume but surpasses them in clarity and headroom. Gear I played through the HRPB into the 108 is - Fender American Pro Strat with Rosewood neck, Godin Koa xTSA, Epiphone Explorer with Korina Top, the xTSA through a Roland GR-55 with modeled acoustic and electric tones and the guitar out running to the HRPB. I would have expected this level of quality from something costing three times what this does so I am Seriously Satisfied and have no reservations recommending this for anything you want to throw at it.

Should be called "HeadAche"

The first HeadRush unit I bought would power up but not make any sound at all. Wouldn't even hiss at full volume even though the red overdrive light would light showing it was receiving a signal. I returned for replacement. The 2nd unit did work,,, FOR WHOLE ONE DAY! On the 1st day the sound was very bottom heavy, and compressed. I play fender (Clapton/Gilmore) blues, moderate drives & cleans through a Helix. The lows overpowered the highs, couldn't get full crisp chords out of the FRFR108, single notes were OK. On day 2 I decided to work on EQing to brighten up the sound but when I powered the unit up the power led would't even light. I double & triple checked connections got nothing. I switched plugs over to a Kustom floor monitor and the monitor worked fine (sounded better than the HeadRush unit too). I returned to Guitar Center for a full refund. I will NEVER plug into any HeadRush "HeadAche" product again. I would like to thank Guitar Center for their cooperation. Your staff was kind and professional through this process.

Ended up selling my Orange CR120 combo to move to a full modeling route with my helix, the orange worked for the most part but ended up still coloring my sound a little too much. Using this FRFR I get a sound fully from my modeler and I absolutely love it! #sweepstakes

#sweepstakes I had bought this to use with my FM3 and couldn't br happier with the sound. It sounds great at low volumes for practice but can get very loud if you want to jam with friends. It's multipurpose too, so you can run things like piano or vocals through it if you wanted too.

The best no frills speaker to pair with my headrush pedal board. Small footprint but large sound. #sweepsteaks

I just started playing around again, in my basement, 20+ years after high school and college bands. I bought an MX5 to get as many tones and effects as reasonable for the price and I started playing it through an old 200w SS rack mount Peavey amp and old custom cabinets with 12" celestions. My wife and daughters also used the old set up , with a small mixer board, to sing karaoke. I knew the old speakers had limited range, and wanted to improve that. This speaker is perfect for my needs. The response through the MX5 is better than I expected. In fact, I had to dial down (or didn't have to dial up) the EQ settings for most tones. The karaoke sound response is so much better and cleaner. Additionally, I cranked up the 108 volume, beyond what we would ever use, and the sound remained surprisingly clear. I know there are some functional limitations for pros, but for a basement player and karaoke, this is well worth the money.

I bought this tonise with my Line 6 Helix LT. Very accurately reproduces my tone that I created using my studio monitors. I used it through an auditorium sound system for a musical, and it worked perfectly for playing in a pit. The speaker positions perfectly to point at me, plenty of volume, and again, accurate. Highly recommend.

Sounds really good with my MX5 and want to get another one so I can run it in stereo. Really useful in small venues.

Can I run my bass guitar through it

It will "work". It won't sound very good. It doesn't have any lows.

The official Headrush site says for guitar and bass and I use it for bass and it does a fabulous job. Why do you say it's not for bass when the Headrush official site says it is. I use a Tube MP as a DI into it and it is the best bass amp I had ever owned.

I believe he meant that it isn't specifically designed for use with them, but it should still work. It's a cab, so as long as the wattage lines up you should be alright.

I'm using a BOSS GT-1 for guitar, Bias FX 2 for bass tones. Can this 8" handle small gigs/band practice? I will mainly use this for a grunge-more punchier bass tones like Alice in Chains.
