Hammond

Description

The Hammond XK-1c Portable Organ, packing legendary B-3 sound into a lightweight, gig-friendly format. This 16-lb. powerhouse serves up authentic drawbar control, vibrato/chorus and touch-sensitive percussion—plus a convincing digital Leslie effect. The XK-1c also provides combo organ and classical pipe voices, all customizable into any era of Hammond/Leslie tone. Wherever your music takes you, the road-tested XK-1c delivers the swirling, soulful majesty only a real Hammond can.

Genuine B-3 Engine Fuels Legendary Sound

The XK-1c harnesses the same Virtual Tonewheel technology as Hammond's flagship B3-mkII console, reproducing the electromechanical complexity that shaped decades of music. Sculpt your signature sound through manipulation of nine harmonic drawbars, in the tradition of Hammond greats. Vibrato/chorus, percussion and digital Leslie bring the classic setup to life.

Tone Tailoring to Suit Any Era

Customize the XK-1c to replicate any point in B-3 history or conjure tones never before heard. An extensive patch library serves up 64 presets; 64 user slots await your creations. Easily import popular "hot rod" mods to kick your sound into overdrive. Combo organ and pipe organ voices—all drawbar-controllable—expand the sonic possibilities.

All the Soul, None of the Strain

The XK-1c delivers pure, unadulterated Hammond tone without the need for a road crew. Its compact, lightweight design cuts the bulk of vintage Hammonds down to size for a new generation of players. No longer will scheduling, space or transportation concerns keep your music from its soulful, swirling best. The Hammond XK-1c: all the legend, none of the limitations.

The XK-1c is great for gigs, light weight and sounds like a Hammond. The Leslie effect is much improved compared to my XK-1.

  • First organ purchase with the intent to keep it forever.

Like most people, I love the sound of the Hammond B3 but cannot afford one, nor do I have the room for one. To my ears this is the next best thing and it only weighs 16lbs. The Leslie Simulator is also great for my needs, i'm sure a Hammond purist could hear the difference but it covers all I will ever need it for.

  • Great portable substitute for a real B3

Have owned several Hammond B3's and at one time had 4 Leslie's and this keyboard is a great substitute for gigs even though nothing can replace the original B3, this keyboard has enough to get by on most gigs and doesn't break your back.

  • This is a REAL Hammond B3. Forget everything else.

I am shocked as to the excellence of this instrument. The action is fast and comfortable, and I am a serious fast player. The Leslie sim is excellent (and I used to know Don Leslie). I play it through two QSC monitors. I will not need anything else. Right now in a stack: 1c top, Yamaha 950 middle and midi Hammond pedals (Yamaha). Two QSC K8s. On-Stage two tier stand, DW Airlift drum throne. I am in heaven, and it fits in my Prius. =)
