Lovin This Thang

We just bought this thing a week ago to replace our original leslie that was so old and had alot of problems. Now,this thing sounds so good and so powerful, I had to move it away from the edge of our church platform and I dont even need to mic it any more.It truely makes me enjoy playing again, even the people in the balcony can hear it with out a mic in it,and I dont even have to put it in a corner to have more bass,it's truely awesome.

Great Speaker Terrible Service

The Leslie speaker has been wonderful since I purchased it last May, however the motor control board has gone faulty and switches the speed when it feels like it, I contacted my local Guitar Center store in Orlando and they said that they are not a service center for this only guitars and I need to send it back to Hammond, really! the manual is very clear to return it to the dealer. I am not about to ship a 125lb speaker at my expense for a 6" x 3' board which I could very easily plug in myself as I was a Hammond factory trained service technician in the old days. I thought it would be much easier for Guitar Center to swap the CTH-37A board at their store.

I use it mostly for home but travel some with it and better than lugging a 500 lb. B3 and 122....

  • I wouldn't buy this 3300 Leslie Again at Hammond's New Price

My only complaint would be that the belt for the bottom rotor came off in transit, but that was an easy fix. I got this beast to the church and plugged in my Hammond CV directly from the tone generator, by-passing the internal pre-amp, and I still have more than enough sound to fill the building. I use about 60 percent of the Leslie tube pre-amp, and I honestly am experiencing one of the best and warmest Hammond sounds I've ever gotten. I love it!

  • So THAT's What my XK3 sounds like!

I used and endorsed a Motion Sound 3d for several years, but never really heard my Hammond until I used the Leslie 3300, It roars, whirls and screams but purrs gently when her tubes are dialed back, lol. A perfect match to any B3, or quality clone. I light up the horns and lower rotor drum by remote control so the audience can SEE what they are hearing. No thin imitation here! THROW that glorious Hammond voice around the room and watch 'em gasp... "Look! That's one of those Leslie's they used to use!" Still do.. student of the blues, SweetRay
