Well this Book/CD/DVD are just great. The best thing is the 3-D graphics. The instructor shows you how to play a certain chord or chords on the Guitar and then it goes to a 3-D graphic showing you what strings to hold down or not hold down and what fingers to use and what strings to play. Also there is a playing track so once you learned a few chords you can trying playing with the track. You could not ask for more as a beginner than that. Its just so easy to follow from the tuning, guitar vocabulary, chords, scales, etc. The CD and Book go hand and hand. What it shows you in the book, like how to play an easy song, the CD plays so you can hear how it is suppose to sound or just play along. Also the book teaches you how to read music and it goes into the vocabulary of the guitar and tuning similar to the DVD. This pack is just what a beginner needs to get going playing the Electric Guitar. There are even tips or advise like to "take a break" or "don't feel bad if you cant master the lesson right away, it might take days or a week to master it". Plus don not worry if you don't have a Squier or even a Fender Guitar. If you do that's great. I have a Yamaha Guitar with a Fender amp. The lessons will work on any six string electric guitar. The DVD is Fender but the Book and CD are Fast Track by Hal Leonard. Still a great Book/CD. I would recommend this to any one who is just starting out,or, even some one that has experience but never properly learned the names of Chords, how to read music, etc. The pack is a little dated some where in the 90s, but the information and lessons and sounds are the same today as they were back then.$29.99, it is well worth the investment.
