There is no replacement like a good classical teacher, but this book can help those who just wants to mess around with fingerpicking. It contains exercises that will make your fingers scream. What really suprise me about this book are the advices it presents to modern fingerstyle. This book stands out from the other classical instructional books because of its application to modern and contemporary style. I have to give props to this book because it jumps started me to the fingerstyle ways. It lacks visualation of finger positions and nail shapes, but you can't find those either in common instructional books. IN the plus side, if you want to play songs like Canon, Fur Elise, and the dreaded 5th Caprice or 24th Caprice, this book can get you pretty far for its price and content.
