After I filed down the sharp edges on the frets, polished the frets, replaced the nut and bridge with actual bone, ignored the glue marks under the finish and oiled the neck. It actually sounded and played well. The neck is not one piece. It's split lengthwise down the middle.

I just unboxed my gretsch ukulele. Right away I can see or feel the fret work have sharp edges. There are a lot of glue marks under the finish. And the neck is not one piece it's split lengthwise down the middle. And the fret markers on the side of the neck, the abalone is really dark and hard to see in anything but bright light. Once past all that it sounds pretty good. I'm going to keep it

I am a beginning ukulele player. I purchased a concert ukulele a while back that I found difficult to play due to the size. I remember the Gretsch name from my youth standing for quality in guitars and found the same with this tenor ukulele. Good fit, set up was great, plus the on-board Fishman Kula electronics and Grover tuners were a must. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.

I would like to try the gretch g9121 a.c.e. Tenor ukeulele before purchase. Does or can the Northridge CA store get one in house for me to test versus the Fender Rincon V2 tenor uke. I will be purchasing one or the other post trial.
