I am very picky about my guitars, so I didn't know what to expect from a made in China Gretsch. I am still totally blown away by the fit and finish of this guitar, It is absolutely flawless. It is actually finished better than my MIK Gretsch. It was perfectly set up out of the box, just tuned it and it was ready to go, didn't even have to set the intonation. The neck feels great, frets were perfect, no buzzes or rattles of any kind and the electronics seem of good quality. It is lighter than my Les Paul and easier to play. I have read that if you use the Bigsby on these they are hard to keep in tune but I have not experienced that with this one. For what I paid for this I am stunned by the value. It has quickly become one on my favorite guitars. I cannot say enough good things about this guitar, after two months I have still not found anything negative to say about it.

The manufacturers need to put more attention to build quality in the fretboard and bridge areas- setup of neck is crucial to playability!

Always wanted a Gretch to fit in between the Telecaster and Gibson Les Paul and this solid body Electromatic perfectly accomplishes this. If I had to have just one guitar, this would be it. Love it for playing Blues, Country and some Jazz plus now able to replicate the sound of AC/DC - Malcolm Young like never before. No issues with tuning stability with the Bigsby and love the creative options having the trem, playing mellow riffs with max delay. Get the G6238 Hardshell Case for this DuoJet - it fits perfectly. Highly recommend this Gretsch Guitar. It is definitely a keeper.

This is a beautiful guitar and plays like a dream. It has that Gretsch sound and the Blacktop Filtertrons are incredible. Sitting down playing the neck is so smooth. The problem is the neck dive when standing. The placement of the neck strap hook is not where the center of gravity is. I could cut some holes and tinker with it but I shouldn't have too. I called Gretsch and they had no recommendations for a fix other than using a strap with weights or the shoestring fix. I am on my way to return it. I will have to get a pro.jet instead. Too bad though because the double jet is crazy sexy. Maybe one day they will correct it. If you sit when you play then by all means get one, but playing while standing will leave you feeling frustrated.

what hardshell case can I put this guitar in?

This case should fit it http://www.guitarcenter.com/Musicians-Gear/Deluxe-Electric-Guitar-Case.gc But I would suggest taking it into the store and trying a few different options to get the best fit.
