If you want a hollow body under a grand, this is a great guitar. Blacktop pickups with individual volume controls is a nice touch. Nice and light, the Bigsby lets you create some great custom tremolo, and the action was fine right out of the box. Perfect for jazz, blues, rockabilly and ambient distortions.

The Gretsch G5427T is an absolutely gorgeous instrument. The woodgrain and striking orange color paired with silver accents make this guitar a true work of art. Aesthetically, it is captivating and stands out. However, the overall sound, while good, does not quite reach greatness. It delivers the quality expected from a Gretsch, but there's noticeable fret buzz that detracts from the overall playing experience. Despite this, the visual appeal of the G5427T remains a strong draw for anyone seeking a stunning guitar.

  • Been waiting a long time to get this one.

I saw a guitar that looked like this when I was a kid on a tv variety show. Took many years but I finally got the guitar of my dreams.

The first thing noticeable, upon unpacking, is the fit and finish are superb: binding is top notch, Flame Maple top is gorgeous, fretboard with thumbnail inlays is sharp looking, etc. The tone is perfectly Gretsch'y with the FT-5E pickups. Linear type pots are just a preference and these definitely lean audio type which is fine, they still work well. GC was easy to work with and we're responsive.
