Description

The Limited Edition G5230T-140 Electromatic 140th Anniversary Jet FT single-cut with Bigsby celebrates 140 years of Gretsch sound. This exceptional instrument honors Gretsch’s historic past while providing essential features for the modern player. This chambered electric is built with a maple top and mahogany body for a strong sonic profile and exceptional acoustic balance. This is paired to a lower set mahogany neck topped with a laurel fingerboard and pearloid hump block inlays.

Equipped with dual FT-5E Filter'Tron humbuckers with individual controls and a Bigsby B50 vibrato tailpiece, this limited-edition G5230T-140 Electromatic 140th Anniversary Jet FT delivers versatile tones and inspiring sounds. Additional features include an anchored Adjusto-matic bridge, chrome hardware and a matching headstock with a commemorative 140th Anniversary plaque.

    I am a pro player who stumbled into the Gretsch world a couple of years ago. You really can't go wrong with them or this guitar. Why 4 stars? Give me a minute. First the guitar is a beautiful work of art as are all Gretsches.There was not a mark on the guitar. The binding was flawless, and the tuners (which I'll replace for locking ones) are very, very good. Better than I expected. The action was nice and low out-of-the-box. The frets on the bass side were perfect. but there was a little sprout on the treble side. Not much and no biggie really. That happens. The FT-5E Filter'trons deliver the same snap and clarity you'd get with the blacktops, but they are warmer in the neck position. The only gripe, and it's a minor one really is the Bigsby. This one was set high up, stiff, and it creaks when I swivel it. I'll attend to it when I have the locking tuners and the brass roller bridge put on. Despite that, I had ZERO tuning issues out-of-the-box.

    This is my first Gretsch, but not my last after this, color is superb, sound is like if telecaster and Les Paul had a baby, you can't go wrong with this amazing guitar
