Gretsch Guitars

Description

The left-handed G2622 Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut with V-Stoptail bursts into the modern music era with powerful sound and style. Brash and feedback-resistant, the sleek G2622 is designed for the guitarist who demands more than the mundane from an instrument—more performance, more style and most importantly, more volume—while retaining all you expect from a Gretsch.

The secret to the Streamliner’s sound is twofold—the Broad’Tron BT-2S humbucking pickup and the spruce center block. Designed specifically for the Streamliner Collection, the high-output Broad’Tron pickup spawns improved definition with tighter bass response for robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange.

A lightweight spruce center block runs the length of the body, reinforcing the top while eliminating undesired feedback for volume-friendly performance on rocking stages. The Streamliner’s sonic power is harnessed and shaped by the traditional control layout—neck and bridge pickup volume controls, a master tone control, master volume control and three-way pickup switching.

A fast-playing 12”-radius laurel fingerboard with elegant pearloid Big Block inlays and 22 medium-jumbo frets sits atop the white-bound neck with a thin “U”-shaped profile—ideal for chord work or fiery riffing. Enjoy rock-solid tuning stability courtesy of the stylish Gretsch V-Stoptail tailpiece, anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and synthetic bone nut.

All the classic eye-catching style you’ve come to expect from Gretsch is here—vintage-style black control knobs, enlarged F-holes for increased acoustic projection, elegant aged white binding with upgraded purfling, slick-looking nickel hardware, three-ply tortoise pickguard and arched laminated maple construction.

Nearly impossible to put down once you pick it up and start playing, the G2622 has the updated sound and classic style that has earned Gretsch accolades since the dawn of rock ‘n’ roll.

I love Gretsch, and this is no exception. A great guitar, plays easy, no reason to adjust it. Perfect! I also love that, unlike some other guitars, this is made for a lefty. It was not a rearranged right handed guitar, there was thought put into it. ...and it's pretty...

Warm tone. Plug into acoustic amp sounds great! My only problem is didn't come with a strap. Bought a stat 20 years ago & came with hardshell case, strap, cable, pick&cleaning cloth. I guess times have changed. Still a great product.

I got this as a Christmas gift from my girlfriend and it has become my go to guitar for all of my clean tones. It hold tuning very well, sounds incredible, and even if I decide to add a little gain to the amp, it does fairly well with it. It has become a go to when I am writing and just jamming with certain people. I absolutely love it and it feels like it should cost more than it actually does.

  • What would Uncle Norris think?

Retired, star of my living room, I play for therapy and to vent excess creative energy, Of 18 guitars I have to place this one at around No. 7, below the US Gibsons and Fenders, like a slightly better Epiphone. One of my uncles built Gretsch guitars in the 50s and 60s, and this one does not stand up to those, which could easily hold their own with a Gibson of similar design. So my opinion is biased, until I realize this is 2020. With that in mind, I think this model is a better instrument for the money.than similar Epiphones I own. After a minimal tweaking the set up, I can coax an adequate variety of sounds for folky, jazzy, or spacey, depending on mood of the moment. (If I wanna rock, gotta grab a SG or Strat.) Action is good, holds tune so far. I find the controls a bit strange- why the "Master volume" thing? I wanted to go 5 stars, but I doubt Uncle Norris would have. It just doesn't have the resonance of those 60s USA gems.
