Gretsch Guitars

Description

Big, bold and unmistakably Gretsch, the G2420TG Streamliner commands attention with expansive hollowbody resonance and modern muscle. An arched laminated maple body supported by parallel tone bars delivers rich bloom, deep lows and articulate shimmer, while Broad’Tron BT-3S humbuckers bring focused punch and midrange authority to the forefront. Push/pull coil-splitting expands the tonal range with crisp single-coil clarity on demand. Anchored by an Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby B60 vibrato, and finished with gleaming gold hardware and pearloid Big Block inlays, the G2420TG captures timeless Gretsch elegance with a contemporary performance edge.

Fully Hollow Arched Maple Body With Parallel Tone Bars for Expansive Resonance

The G2420TG’s fully hollow laminated maple body delivers the open, dimensional voice that defines classic Gretsch tone. Without a center block, the body breathes with natural air and bloom, producing deep lows, articulate mids and a shimmering high-end response. Parallel tone bars reinforce structural stability while preserving resonance, enhancing sustain and clarity without sacrificing the instrument’s lively, acoustic-like character. The result is a rich, room-filling sound that responds dynamically to touch and amplification alike.

Soft C Nato Set Neck With Laurel Fingerboard for Fluid Playability

A set nato neck with a comfortable soft C profile offers a balanced feel suited to rhythm and lead work alike. The 24.75" scale length provides a slightly warmer response and relaxed string tension, encouraging expressive bends and smooth vibrato. A 12" radius laurel fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets supports fast runs and controlled articulation across the fretboard. Pearloid Big Block inlays and a real bone nut reinforce the instrument’s classic Gretsch styling while contributing to clarity and sustain.

Broad’Tron BT-3S Pickups With Coil-Splitting for Powerful, Versatile Tone

Broad’Tron BT-3S humbuckers bring modern punch to the G2420TG’s fully hollow platform. Designed with a blend of Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 magnets, they deliver strong mids, tight yet full lows and smooth, musical highs that cut through a mix without losing warmth. Independent neck and bridge volume controls, along with master tone and master volume, provide detailed shaping control, while push/pull coil-splitting introduces brighter, more articulate textures on demand. From thick rhythm tones to chime-forward cleans, the Streamliner adapts with authority.

Bigsby B60 Vibrato and Gold Hardware for Expressive Gretsch Style

An Adjusto-Matic bridge with a secured laurel base ensures accurate intonation and stable string contact, working seamlessly with the Bigsby B60 vibrato tailpiece for smooth, expressive pitch modulation. The B60 adds classic shimmer and fluid movement to chords and single-note lines, reinforcing the guitar’s vintage-inspired character. Die-cast sealed tuners provide dependable tuning stability, while gold hardware, metal G-Arrow knobs and a three-ply black pickguard complete the instrument’s striking aesthetic.

A Limited-Edition Streamliner With a Timeless Hollowbody Voice

The Gretsch G2420TG Streamliner delivers the unmistakable openness and elegance of a traditional hollowbody, refined for modern players. With its fully hollow construction, Broad’Tron-powered versatility and gold-accented appointments, it blends vintage-inspired glamour with contemporary reliability. Bold, resonant and unmistakably Gretsch, the G2420TG is built to command the stage with standout style and expansive sound.

Plays awesome. I would recommend changing the strings for a better feel, and the body is bulkier than you might expect. You definitely don't hear much buzz or humming for a semi-hollow, so the build quality is great. You could easily turn it into an expensive guitar by swapping out a select few pieces. Perfect if using it as a jazzbox.
