Gretsch Guitars G2420 Streamliner Hollowbody With Chromatic II Electric Guitar Village Amber

The Gretsch Guitars G2420 Streamliner delivers a bold tone and iconic style for the modern guitarist. The G2420 Streamliner hollowbody features dual Broad'Tron BT-2S humbucking pickups that provide a robust, articulate tone with tight bass, crisp highs and a throaty midrange. This tonal power is shaped by traditional controls—per-pickup volume knobs, a master tone knob, and a three-way pickup switch. A fast 12"-radius laurel fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets sit atop a nato neck with a thin "U" profile ideal for chords or riffs. Rock-solid intonation comes courtesy of a Gretsch Chromatic II tailpiece, Adjusto-Matic bridge and synthetic bone nut.
Dual Broad'Tron Pickups For Powerful Tone
The secret to the G2420 Streamliner's tone lies in its dual Broad'Tron BT-2S humbucking pickups. Designed specifically for the Streamliner Collection, these high-output pickups provide tight bass, pristine highs and a throaty midrange for a robust, well-defined tone.
Classy Looks With Authentic Gretsch Style
The G2420 Streamliner hollowbody embodies Gretsch's iconic style with features like enlarged F-holes, aged white binding, tortoise pickguard, and vintage-style knobs. The arched, laminated maple body offers acoustic resonance and projection. Nickel hardware and a gloss finish complete the vintage vibe.
Fast Laurel Fingerboard and Adjustable Bridge
A fast 12"-radius laurel fingerboard makes the G2420 Streamliner a joy to play, with 22 medium jumbo frets for expressive soloing and pearl block inlays. An Adjusto-Matic bridge with secured laurel base provides adjustable action and sustain.

The Best in It's Price Range !
Over the past few months I have been searching for a hollow body arch top and/or a semi hollow of decent quality. My preference has been Ibanez. I was able to try several models of interest off the rack which included Ibanez, Epiphone, and D'Angelico. Of the rack the set up's of the D'Angelico was not that great. The Epiphone was ok. Was thinking of going with the higher end Ibanez or artstar. Never thinking of trying or using a Gretsch, and after becoming disappointed with the other models; I pulled a Gretsch Solid body (G5220 Electro BT) off the Rack. Was very surprised with the feel of the neck and full balanced sound (perhaps better sounding than previous semi hollow models I tried off the rack}. A couple of weeks later while at GC they had in stock a Gretsch Streamliner hollow bodyG2420 and Semi Hollow G2622. Was really impressed with the Gretsch hollow body. Great feel ,Not heavy, Smooth Neck . Low string action with no buzz , and great balanced sound, acoustic or with amp. Once again compared to previous models I tried, it was like striking gold. I then tried the semi hollow G2622. Also played well. Was thinking I could use the hollow body for smaller venues and the semi for possible larger venues due to possible feedback. Now there are a few cons I should mention. In general the frets were leveled very good. A couple with minor sharp edge which I felted I could correct with a small file. Also volume and tone knobs are different than most other guitars. Not sure about tuning machines. Appear to be ok for now. In closing whether your into Jazz, Blues or Country, don't overlook the Gretsch . For the price it may be that dream guitar you are looking for at a reasonable price.

Great guitar, bad luck. Arrived with faulty pick up selector
Pretty bummed about my first gretsch purchase. I understand why this guitar has so many positive reviews. It sounds amazing whether it's plugged into an amp or played as acoustic. Unfortunately the neck pick up on my brand new guitar did not function and only made sound through my amp when the pickup selector was flipped in the lead setting. Seems like a pretty random error and I don't blame guitar center. I'm just wondering how my specific guitar passed manufacturer inspection before it was shipped to me... I'm going to order the same model and hopefully it arrives functional. Maybe I will change my review if I get one that works properly.

I love the guitar, it's inexpensive, but a great guitar for the price. Didn't have to do any Set Up work except setting the action (I prefer 5/64 Bass side, 3/64 Treble,) and setting relief at .012, (of course I oil the fret boards on all my new guitars). All in all about 5 minutes work.
Great Guitar and Fun to Play!

I purchased the Gretch 2420 in New York or Bronx Burst color and truly enjoy playing it. It's easy on my fingers and wallet as well. I use the guitar for flat and finger picking. The electronics work well. I'm not a pro but enjoy playing a well put together instrument.

The playability and finish are excellent and the tone plugged in or acoustic is pretty dang good. The frets are finished great for a budget guitar and better than many USA fenders. Nothing much else to add other than I'd buy it again.
I would buy this guitar again
