Gretsch USA Custom Bronze snare drums are an extremely musical instrument. This particular size tends to be darker in tone yet very melodic and warm at the same time. Yet, however warm and dark this drum is, Gretsch Bronze still has a clear, defined high end and great stick articulation.
The 1mm polished bronze shell also comes with our Micro-Sensitive throw, 42-Strand snare wires, die-cast hoops and a ‘Snap-In’ key holder.

This is the only snare drum that I have purchased that actually sounded pretty good with stock heads and wires ( I have 60 snares). The only upgrade I made was to put a Remo Fiberskyn Diplomat Powerstroke on the Batter side and left the Stock Reso and 42 strand wires, sound is awesome and great sensitivity, but if you play it loud, it has that awesome crack with no snare wire after buzz, solid and thuddy with great volume.

My only complaint is the drum was not in stock when I purchased it, so it took a couple weeks for it to be shipped. The drum is a fantastic musical instrument- it beat out my DW Performance series snare for rock gigs. The bronze shell is so musical with a very pleasant and mild ring to it. I was looking for an ace metal snare drum and this is definitely it- the drum has sweet tone, plus power, sensitivity, and works great tuned high or low, Kudos Gretsch! Thank you Guitar Center!
