Description
Resembling the banjeaurines of old, this short scale (23.5”) version of the Gold Tone AC-12 banjo has 17 frets and is tuned to A (a whole step higher than a standard banjo). The short, scooped neck is built just like its longer sibling and on the same pot assembly as the AC-12. Ideal for travel, the AC-12A is small, lightweight and perfect for a long session of A or D tunes. A gig bag is also included.

I play clawhammer. The 12" pot makes all the difference in the tone, to my ear significantly better than any 11" pot I've played. I like the wider neck, and prefer a short A scale. I'm not aware of any other comparable mass produced instruments with an A-scale and 12" pot, though a lot of custom builders are building shorter scale 12" open backs. The setup was good out of the box. #sweepstakes
