The Mando-Guitar is a great instrument and I've been enjoying playing it. However, the E, A and D strings provided by the manufacturer appeared to be used strings with areas that seem to exhibit tarnish and different colors.

  • Great instrument to have!

I really like this instrument! You get a mandolin sound without having to learn how to play a mandolin! Sounds great when accompanied by an acoustic guitar! Kind of pricey, but I found a used one online for a great price. Easy to fingerpick. Contrary to answers I've seen on this website, it does have a pickup and it sounds great plugged in. There are no volume or control knobs, but I play through a small pedal board anyway and can dial in some great sounds that way. Also, you can put a capo on it but keep in mind that the frets are narrower that a regular guitar I've capoed up to the 5th fret with no problem and I have fat fingers!

This is not an acoustic electric instrument, so it cannot be plugged into an amp.
