These are the strings that came on my Gibson J15 and was so impressed with them, I just keep putting them on. I have tried a few other brands and types and thought they were good but just not as good as these. They are reasonably priced and last me a few months of daily playing time of 1-3 hours per day.

  • I would buy these again

i've started to take a different approach when changing strings. i use to go off recommendations and such (back when you didn't have chat groups and endless discussion and videos). But now, just start with what they put on these higher end guitars in the factory, especially since Gibson and Martin make nice strings with plenty of options. I put these on my J-15. They sound great and compliment the factory setup action. i know strings are subjective but I like these as much as i liked elixirs. right amount of bass and mid range (i found it harder to bring out these elements before on this guitar). i can't comment on longevity yet, but if i had a gig in the next week i would be thrilled to use these based on how well they sound and play. i noticed a bit more volume as well. I had these expensive Austrian brand (can't remember how to spell) on and they were great, lasted a long time. But they were more than double these masterbuilts and more than elixirs. As on now i am thinking these are the ones i'll use going foward.
