amazing rock machine

I love this guitar and the 490t has one of the nicest sounds around ... regultar studios don't have them so this limited edition one is more like an original studio. No binding, but who cares. A amazing rock machine great for playing Ozzy, Halen or Metallica.
So much fun!

The perfect gateway into Gibson guitars

I've always wanted a real Gibson Les Paul since I started playing, since many of my guitar heroes have them. While I would much rather have the more "old school" style Standard '50s or '60s models, I simply couldn't afford it at the time I bought this guitar. My local GC had one of these Studio models as a demo and I decided to try it out. I immediately fell in love with how it sounded and felt, and decided I could afford it. I could've bought the cheaper Tribute or Modern Lite models, but I just don't like satin/matte finishes on a guitar. The Studio model is well worth the extra money for its looks, in my opinion. As for the overall quality, I've found a few very small imperfections in the fretboard area but it's nothing that will affect playing. Otherwise, I can't find anything wrong with it. All of the components seem to be very high quality, especially the toggle switch and tuners. The 498T bridge pickup produces some killer sounds as well. However, you should know that the 498T is a pretty hot pickup, and I find it difficult to get clean tones out of it, so keep that in mind. I ended up buying the blue version because of how stunning it looked in-person. It should be noted that the stock photos on the GC website make the finishes on these guitars look very dull compared to real life. They're very glossy and the finish is transparent so you can easily see the woodgrain. I am very happy with my LP Studio. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for their first Gibson guitar. It'll impress you and all your friends!

I bought this guitar as my first ever guitar. Go big or go home, right? Let me tell you.. this guitar is absolutely incredible. It's a great weight, looks beautiful, and sounds incredible. I did change the strings to Elixir Optiweb Custom Lights... otherwise, I love love love this guitar.

If it weren't for the leasing option Guitar Center is offering, I would've never owned this awesome guitar!! I am a bass player of many decades and just picked up the electric guitar a few years back. Though I am not a great guitar player, I strive for the best with any purchase I make. Having small hands, this guitar is perfect and knew it the second the saleswoman put it in my hands. The only complaint I have is the fact of spending as much money as I did, it only comes with a gig bag. The Epi 1959 comes with a hardshell case and almost half the price. Either way, I now own a Gibson that has the tones they're so well known for and had I approved for more $, I would've bought 2!
I would buy this product again and again

Why does the ad list this guitar as having a phase switch? The Gibson les paul studio does not have this feature.
I apologize for the confusion. You are correct. Thank you for pointing that out. I will pass it on to our web team.submitted2 years ago
