Description

Gibson's Les Paul Studio embodies the essential features of the iconic Les Paul guitar with enhancements for playability and tonal versatility. Now available in Wine Red and Smokehouse Burst, the Les Paul Studio is perfect for players seeking vintage tone and feel. The Les Paul Studio features a mahogany body and set neck for resonance and sustain. The rosewood fingerboard and SlimTaper neck profile provide effortless playability. The 490R and 498T humbucking pickups deliver tight, high-output tone with push-pull pots for coil tapping.

Vintage Sound Meets Modern Playability

The Les Paul Studio pays homage to the classic Les Paul design with enhancements for comfort. The rosewood fingerboard and SlimTaper neck provide a familiar yet fast feel for intricate solos and complex chords. Two humbucking pickups provide the warm, sustained tone Les Pauls are known for with the added versatility of coil tapping for single-coil-like tones.

High-Performance Pickups With Coil Tapping

The 490R and 498T pickups provide tight, articulate tone and high output. Two push-pull pots activate coil tapping for single-coil tones, expanding the Les Paul Studio's tonal palette. Roll back the volume for warmer, jazzier tones or crank it up for hard rock and metal. With coil tapping, you can achieve tame tones to all-out aggression.

Timeless Mahogany Body and Set Neck

The Les Paul Studio features a mahogany body and set mahogany neck for resonance, sustain and stability. Its chambered body reduces weight while maintaining tone. The set neck's mortise and tenon construction creates a solid platform for complex technique and heavy vibrato. Available now at Guitar Center, order your Gibson Les Paul Studio today.

Great guitar for the money

I've got a very nice Epiphone Les Paul that my wife bought me as a birthday present for my 36th birthday. That was 20 years ago and that Epiphone is still part of my collection. It's a Les Paul custom with all the bells and whistles, but it's not a Gibson. I have always wanted an authentic Gibson Les Paul, but was always too cheap to pay for one, but I finally took the plunge. And while some may consider this a "low end" Les Paul, the moment I picked it up and started playing it through an amplifier, I knew this was a superior instrument. What a great array of tones with the dual toggles on both volume knobs, so great for adding some variety to your live soloing tones. Clean, clear, crisp sound. The electronics are great. One word of caution for people who buy online like I did, when you pick the "Smoke Burst" color, the pictures are very misleading although I don't think it's intentional. The guitar is substantially darker than the pictures make it look. I had to almost strain to see the wood grain beneath the finish. That said, while it did surprise me a bit at first (I thought they'd sent me wrong guitar!), after a couple of minutes of looking at it, I realized that the subtlety of the paint job was really very classy and almost elegant looking. My wife called it "regal" in fact. So, if you're looking to get your hands on a brand-new Gibson Les Paul but don't want to pay for all the bells and whistles -which are mostly aesthetic and not functional- this is a great entry-level instrument. I gave it 4 stars. Would by again.

Love the color, feels good on the neck, would like a hard case for it, and a little lighter in weight, but the sound is fantastic.

  • I would buy this again!

What a perfect process to get a dream guitar, that I have been wanting for a very long time. Scott at Guitar Center in West Des Moines, made sure EVERYTHING was perfect for me. I can't tell you how much I am thrilled with my purchase. This is the 2nd time I have bought a guitar from GC. Thank you all for all you do for us! As Arnold Schwarzenegger says... "I'll Be Back."

My wife bought a studio smokehouse burst for me as a christmas present. Love it. First gibson i own and just love it. It is easy to play, i am smaller guy and i find it comfortable to play. Im cursed with small hands and sausage fingers, haha but can play with ease. Highly recomend.

The guitar sounds and looks great, I'm very happy to own one. But given the price and reputation, the craftsmanship is poor. Mine came with dried glue all over, multiple inlays are popping out after only a year, and the finish is so fragile that you can't even put a tuner on the headstock without leaving permanent dents.

  • What a awesome guitar,

I just play for fun but this guitar is by far the best I've owned by far. It is so smooth and the sound. OMG the sounds you can make. Wish I'd used a Les Paul way back when.

What is the weight of this guitar?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 8.5 – 9.0 lbs
