Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe Electric Guitar Heritage Cherry Sunburst

I've been playing guitar for 39 years and have primarily played start style guitars. Went into guitar center last week to looking to pick up a Les Paul of some variety. Started with the Epiphone modles. Decent, played pretty well. Solid. For comparison, I pulled this model, Gibson LP deluxe, off the shelf for comparison - couldn't be that much difference, right? Wrong! I was stunned. Before I even plugged this guitar in you could feel and hear the resonance of the wood. The non-amplified guitar provided feedback and felt "active" and "alive" acoustically. In contrast, the Epiphone was a solid player but didn't have the resonance and sparkle. It felt "flat" in comparison. I was sold before I plugged it in. Then I did plug the guitar in to a very nice Orange amp and loved what I was hearing. In fact, it sounded and felt so good that I played for almost and hour in the store. The responsive and totally playable guitar had fantastic sounding pickups to boot! I loved the tones I was hearing. The output was balanced across all strings. Sound was tight and focused. Bridge pickup had just the right amount of bite and snarl. Neck pickup was a tad warmer but super nice as well. Coil tap tone was really good on the neck as well. Bends didn't fret out, neck was fast and playable, action was fantastic, note rang out, sustain was excellent. I knew I would be buying this guitar. The craftsmanship was evident on all points. Guitar looked and felt great in my hands. Compared it to the top shelf Les Paul and liked the sound of these pickups better that the $2500 models. The pickups really impressed me. I've only had the guitar for a week so I can't speak to reliability. But over all this is a first rate instrument. Well made, plays beautifully, and sounds fantastic. I highly recommend this guitar.

As other have said in their reviews, the pictures do not do this guitar any justice. Beautiful finish on my cherry sunburst model with some very nice wood grain showing through. The neck, fretboard, frets, bridge and hardware are all installed perfectly. The action was crazy low with no buzz at all. The coil tap feature is more useful than I thought it would be. And most importantly... the tone of this guitar is superb. I run it through a Marshall JMD 102 and it is a destroyer. Clean, crunch, way-high gain, the Studio Deluxe does it all very well. Heavy, solid, sturdy and built to last. If you are looking for a mid-level Les Paul- this is the one. It rivals my LP Standard Traditional and might be better for some things. Even if you are thinking about a lower-end LP, don't do it. Be patient, save the cash and then pull the trigger on this one.

Been playing this for over a year now, is an awesome guitar! Very comfortable to play and the coil-splitting gives a wide variety of sounds. The humbuckers sound excellent, but use the coil tap and you've got the nice single-coil voicing to add to it. I had been looking for a quality Les Paul for a decent price, and was hoping to find one with a fairly slim neck and without the traditional Les Paul pickguard. The Studio Deluxe is exactly what I was looking for. This is a great looking, great sounding, great playing axe and after 15 months is proving to be rugged and well built. Excellent guitar, I couldn't be happier!

Just bought my Les Paul Studio Deluxe from my good friends @ Guitar Center yesturday and I can't quit playing it and when I do I catch myself just stareing at it! I love getting my tone from the body and this ax is perfect! I love the options with the coil splitting capabilities and the action is great! I now have solved all of my electric guitar needs with the warm sound of a timeless legend! You must play this guitar, mine is vintage burst but I had a hard time decideing between the iced tea burst.

Was looking for an affordable Les Paul with a slim profile neck. Went into GC, and they had the Vintage Sunburst on sale. Wow, what a beautiful Guitar. The pictures in no way, do this guitar justice. I wanted the Cherry Sunburst, but after seeing this, I fell in love. The color and finish are hard to describe. Color coordination at it's finest. The brown burst, is not nearly as dark as shown on the photos. It is perfectly matched with the sides, back, and neck. I think it is one of the most beautiful Guitars I have seen. It doesn't have the intricate bookmatched woodgrain, but the colors work so well together. If you are considering a deluxe, go see this one in person. I wanted this one for the 60's neck profile. My faded Cherry Studio has the 50s, baseball bat, neck profile. My hands just couldn't play barre chords past the 5th-7th fret. This is one of the best necks of any guitar I have played. I can barre chords easily up to the 12th frets. The pickups are nicer than my Faded Cherry studio. A little "hotter" also. Love the coil splitting. Split the coil and on a clean channel amp, sounds like an acoustic. Plays like a charm. I am in love.

Like the other reviewers, I think this guitar is amazing. I was on the fence between getting a LP Studio Tribute, or possibly stepping up to a Traditional. I went to GC to try a few models out, did some research on the net, and finally decide on this model. The tone is unbelievable through my Blackstar. I had an Epi LP and really liked it, but this thing sounds so much better.
