Just thought I'd add to my other review here. I also have a limited edition American denim ultra stratocaster I got 4 months ago. I compared the 2 side by side. The fender is a great guitar no doubt, but found out why Jimmy Page , IMHO the GOAT, used the 50s les Paul live and on a lot of his electric studio work. Gibson now making them like they used to, the finest American guitars made, by a guy who has both. Cant beat made in USA.

Perfect. Went to the gc in Manchester Ct.I tried out some 60s les Paul's. Then tried the 50s. Game over. Perfect color, perfect sound. No nonsense guitar. Dont let the thick neck worry you, it's perfect too. Plus a perfect limited edition color. Also perfect service from Jose and crew at the Manchester store.

I am so glad I bought this gem. I've been wanting a Standard pretty much as long as I've been playing. I've walked into many guitar stores intending to get a Les Paul Standard but walking out with something else: starting in 1983 when I scored my 1972 Telecaster. This honey burst was destined for me from when I first caught a glimpse of it. Once I played it, I knew I'd be walking out with it. The salute to the 1950's vibe is solid: from Kluson tuners to chunky neck to the look of faded cherryburst that a honeyburst is supposed to look like. Fantastic instrument. One for the permanent collection. Absolutely killer looks and tones. Only color Standard I considered was goldtop or honeyburst: I'm a happy camper.
Beautiful looking, sounding, and playing Les Paul

So beyond impressed with the 50s standard. The stock photos do not do it justice. Mine in particular has an amazing tiger like flame top. For those wanting to confirm pickup type as the description is vague, they are Bustbucker 1&2's. I pulled my pickups to confirm. The frets are of course level due to the PLEK, and the nut is cut perfect. My action is extremely low requiring only a very small bit of relief, buzz free. The 50s neck is nice and chunky, and it sustains for days. I have a few Les Pauls, and this is probably my favorite by a mile. Well done Gibson, well done.

Just bought this exact model and it's beautiful and plays beautifully (think the PLEK is a great feature. I spoke directly to Gibson about specs since GC website is extremely vague. This is guitar center exclusive with burstbucker pro pickups. According to Gibson NONE of their Les Paul Standards are weight relieved although this guitar is surprisingly light. Gibson seems to save their best looking maple tops for store exclusives so mine is a beautiful AA qulity although definitely not AAA quality but not sure the extra $200 is worth the difference in flame. Store staff at Little Rock store is awesome. Model number is LPS5G20HBNH3 of you want to get full details from Gibson.
