I was looking for a P-90 guitar; However, GC had this Gibson p-90 on back order and GC was not taking orders at that time. Not interested in the Epiphone p-90 even under $200 (I'll save for the Gibson. Glad I did). I found a used (2020) LP special tribute P-90 walnut online at GC rated "excellent condition". It looked and played new. Tuned up with great intonation (unbelievably good ). Sounds great; easy to to play. No neck dive. Not worrried about PCB (Printed Circuit Board) since no plans on switching the pickups. It weighs in at 8.16lb (at least 4 lbs less than my LP classic. I did add a selector washer (Rhythm/Treble) for looks. 😉. Btw. I also bought the schecter PT special P-90 (Tele style) 7.5 lbs. (new from GC) it too is very nice. Gibson had the better set up.

This is a great guitars hands down. Great finish, great pickups and great feel. Only negatives about this guitar I'd say is the fact that they used PCB to mount and wire the electronics in the body cavity. I had mine taken out by local guy and rewired by hand. Definitely made a difference for the tone. Also wish it came with a case. Had to buy an epiphone lp special case because it does not fit in a normal gibson Hard case.

This is the first electric guitar I've purchased in over 15 years. The first electric guitar I ever bought was a Jackson RR3 (Eerie Dess Swirl) when I was like 15, and it was great for what it was and for what I wanted at that time, which was to afford my own guitar and shred as fast and as hard as possible. In the interim since then I've pretty much exclusively played bass and acoustic guitar as I've tried to balance the demands of adulthood while holding tight to my childhood hobbies that continue to give me so much peace and happiness. Now at the ripe old age of 32, tastes have changed, including the pursuit of that ideal electric sound. I was initially drawn to the Les Paul special tribute because it was the closest replica to Bob Marley's special (at least that I could afford). However, I was torn between it and a few of the Gretsch hollow bodies because I wanted that guaranteed fat hollow sound. While I'm sure I would've been happy with a Gretsch, I decided to go with the special tribute. I was not disappointed. The best thing about it, besides the natural walnut finish, is the P-90 pick-ups. They offer such an amazing range of sound and tone depending on how hard you play. From sweet angels licking my ears when I finger pick to a rough, grungy bite the harder I pick. It's definitely a characteristic that I would not have otherwise appreciated as an 18-year-old in my Sepultura t-shirt. But my god, like fine wine, now that I know how amazing and nuanced I can sound I've become hooked! Right now (5 days in to my purchase), I play it primarily with the neck pick up on an Orange Crush 20W amp on clean and on dirty as well with gain at about 3 or 4 and its all I need. Such a great guitar for someone who just wants to enjoy and forget about the stresses of the day - which isn't that what we're all just trying to do?

Use it to record with a few other guitars. Have been wanting an LP with p90's and was considering a Custom Shop one. This Special Tribute for a Grand is really nice. I have more expensive Les Paul's and this guitar can hang easily. P90's Rock

I have nothing negative to say about this guitar . I bought a less expensive LP because i wanted to add a p-90 guitar to my collection . This is light , sounds amazing and plays as good as any Les Paul . It is Basic and perfect . I added a hard case right away the gig bag isn't very impressive .

I’m sorry, we don’t know what the blemish is. The blemishes will be perhaps minor scratches, average handling wear. There will be no effect on playability or sound

How much does this guitar weigh? Is it heavier or lighter than other LP's?

    Open Reply - Thomas
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will weigh about 8-9 lbs
