Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway AA Top Electric Guitar Transparent Blue

This guitar is the one I have been waiting for. I love les pauls, but not really the weight. I love SG's but they are top heavy. this is like a combination of the two, and the blue top is more of an aqua blue-green, with more blue. I played on some les paul studios, and standards, and then i asked if they had any double cuts, and they brought out a black one. So they did a custom order and got me a blue one, within two weeks. I am extremely pleased with it. its perfect, plays great sounds great, burstbucks for ya, and its just a super cool lookin guitar, everyone drools when they see it.

i bought one 3-4 months ago and gig with it twice a week. I have no major complaints about the guitar. I love how easy the reach on the high frets is. This guitar has burst bucker pros which is my first choice. Only complaint in guitar is that it was little pricey.

I've been wanting a backup to my SG for a long time, but this Les Paul Double Cut is my main guitar now. It has a little throatier growl in the tone. I might have the heel contoured a little bit for some easier upper fret access. Not long ago, I wrote Gibson asking for something a little classier looking than the SG, with the slim 60s neck and maybe a little thicker body. I also complained about the single volume knob and its placement on the DC PRO. I like to think Gibson issued this guitar just for me. I tried all the Les Paul Customs in the store, and this guitar just sounded better and had superior playability. It sounds best through a Marshall like the JCM 800, but I used the TSL 2000 in the store. People migrated from all over the store to hear it, and I got tons of compliments afterwards. I bought the heritage sunburst. I want another one, maybe in ebony. There is not much info about this guitar online, and some disagreement about whether it has burstbucker Pros or 496R & 500T pickups. I'd like to know what's in it, but I know great tone when I hear it. I normally get Fralin's, and especially the high output in the bridge, but these stock pickups are keepers. This is "the one!" Please no one else buy any!! I want them all!!! MWAAH HAA HAA HAA HAA!!!!

This guitar is awsome. However no guitar is perfect. I have found 2 flaws with mine. There is a finish error on it by the neck joint, & the input jack was not tight. I know these are little things to nasay about, but for $1800.00 it shouldn't have these flaws. Aside from that this guitar is great. It's only available from GC, It's got two volumes instead of one (all other double cuts have only one), and the finish is unique. Pluged in to my mesa Single rec. This is one great sounding guitar. Leave the clean where you have it. The bridge pickup will give a nice country twang. The neck give a nice pleasent clean. Roll the tone nob back and Jazz happens. All these tones and I didn't touch the amp. The same is true for the distorted sounds. The neck sings and the bridge screams. This guitar is a really nice peace to play as well. The neck feels great and the double cut give great fret access. All in all a great guitar, mine just had a few flaws that should have been caught.

I have a LP standard and I used to have a LP DC. This is somewhere in the middle of the two. It is heavier than the LP DC and has full binding with Grovers. Plays great and has a look unlike any other. I got the Heritage Cherry Sunburst and it is quite a looker.

Hard to find much detail of this guitar anywhere. It's a double cut LP, but not like anything on the gibson site. It's chambered, has a long neck tenon, 2 volumes, one tone and a 3 way switch. Because it's chambered, it's lighter and because the neck joint is at the 19th fret, the upper fret access is much better. It sounds like an LP, it plays like an LP. I have two others, and this is right up there with those, only lighter!
