I purchased my G-Writer EC Accoustic-Electric guitar about a year ago. First the sound is great and I especially like the Player Port. Like it was stated the Port does project nicely. Love hearing my playing without having to play hard just to hear your music - I love to finger pick and not use a hard pick. However, when I received the guitar around the port they have a plastic ring around the hole MY guitar did not have one! I immediately contact the company I purchase the guitar from - and it was not Guitar Center - and even contacted Gibson themselves about it missing the plastic trim around the whole..... Both the company I purchased it from and Gibson themselves stated they would send me one for my guitar.... Now that has been over a year now and STILLL nothing...... Very disappointed!!!! Can't say I would never buy another Gibson because I just purchased a Gibson Hummingbird and it came with all it's screws and material.....
I would definitely buy again.

Easy to play. Great sound. Only issue was during cold, dry weather the fret board became warped. You need to keep the guitar in the case and use the humidification system. The staff at the Rockville store did a great job at identifying the problem and quickly obtaining a new guitar.

I'm not sure who set my guitar up but off the wall at GC it was hands down the best playing acoustic I've ever touched. Was not the guitar nor finish I was looking for but after picking it up,I bought it. Well made and beautiful…the head stick is gorgeous. Can't tell you how well this guitar plays. I would call it a medium size guitar. The strings have very low tension and just play easy. The pickup is a little sensitive imo if you're a heavy player like me,but I'm wrkn on that…the body picks up any taps that you may happen by accident or on purpose depending on your style…I've adjusted my strum…. But I can't say enough about this guitar, especially since based on my checklist I would not have purchased it online…but after seeing and playing it in store….it's a done deal….comes with extra goodies too…USA!!!!!

I own several Martin dreadnoughts both Mexico & USA made and was fixing to buy a Taylor 210ce decided i wasn't spending that much on a Mexico made Taylor although it played excellent i wanted an USA made cutaway acoustic, For the money the Gibson G-writer EC to me was the best choice for the money i lowered the action put D'addario XS 10/47strings.Sounds,plays and looks phenomenal. Its not layered in clearcoat to me this is a player's guitar. Only complaints It's a little bit more narrow at the nut compared to my Martins which is normal for Gibson & Epiphone and when i keep it hung on the wall it will be a tiny bit out of tune I think some of it is because it's brand-new and they recommend it stay in its case with the provided D'addario Humidifier packs it came with. It came with some nice little extras like Gibson Leather pick key chain , Humidifier packs, Soft case , microfiber wipe and truss rod tool. Although for the price i think it should have came with a Gibson Hardcase. Overall i love it and hopefully one day i can get me a Gibson J-200 $$$
Lot's of fun to play

There's just something about the feel and sound of a Gibson. I've used them since the 60's and this acoustic is no exception. The playerport sound is excellent.
