Excellent Value no frills Genuine Gibson Sound

After many guitar purchases and sales over decades, I have now added this wonderful Gibson guitar to my acoustic collection. I prize my Taylor 314ce very much for it's brightness (mine is not over the top bright), volume, ease of play and value. Wanting to add an upgrade, I looked at the D-28 and this J-45 side by side. Some folks swear by rosewood (supposed king of tonewoods), but for some reason, I really like the mahogany sound. This Gibson guitar clearly won my heart and called to me. Martin is a fine guitar and is probably more popular, but this Gibson sounded excellent to me. You must play a few guitars and see which one sounds best for you. I love this guitar.
Nothing short of Amazing!

This is an amazing guitar. Though I'm a novice, I wanted an heirloom guitar, within a certain price range, and felt I couldn't go wrong with "the workhorse." No regrets on getting this guitar.
2018 J-45 Review

A lovely-looking, very comfortable guitar to play--possibly the most comfortable guitar I've played in quite a while. The slim taper neck is a nice feature on these newer models as well. The only thing that wasn't as impressive was the flat sound, and I'm not sure if it's because the model I tried was brand new and hadn't yet settled into its tone, or if it was a string issue of some sort, something that is a bit common with humidified rooms, according to the assistant that was helping me. If it is a string issue, perhaps a change of strings would make the sound less flat.
It's perfect
