I added a 2nd bass drum to my set and the hi-hat leg got in the way so I cut them off. Oops...now my stand wouldn't stand by itself so I started to look around and found this amazing little piece of hardware. My foot pedal is now right next to my left bass pedal and it works great and holds it tight.

In my opinion, this is an excellent product. I've been using this on my home set for about a year now, and I'm still very impressed with it's performance. The end clamps hold on rock solid regardless of the diameter of pipe you're clamping to. I use it to brace my hi-hat to one of my 1 1/2" rack tubes. Again, since the end clamps are large enough, they hold so well that I can leave the legs on the hi-hat folded in the closed position, and play as hard as I can, and the hi-hat does not move at all, even with the clamp nearly fully extended. With my hi-hat being in such close proximity to 2 of my toms, (about a quarter of an inch at the closest spot) it's essential that it stays put. The ball joint thingy works very well also, A++! A must have for rack systems, but I'm sure you can use this on just about any setup.

I bought this item to facilitate the placement of a china cymbal, above and slightly behind and to the right of my ride cymbal, and without having to add separate cymbal stand. I attached the clamp on one end of this item to the base of the ride cymbal stand, and the clamp on the other end to the cymbal boom arm. I used the "flex" features of the item (i.e., swivel joints, extension joint, and ball joint) to create an "up-and-around" configuration, which allowed me to place the cymbal exactly where I wanted it. The setup is very strong and stable, and looks great. This item is absolutely fantastic, and I heartily recommend it to anyone wanting to accomplish a similar setup.
