I have some issuses with this. I bought two of these for my mounted toms because I needed something that didn't clamp to the rims. While setting them up, I found the wing nuts difficult to get tight by hand and had to use a pair of pliers. I may just take the wing nuts off and put nuts with lock washers on instead. Second You can't have them extended to far because to spring loaded clamps aren't strong enough and will the arm will sag. Third, they have a rubberised section just before the treaded nipple in which you screw the mic holder on to it is not really firm and it bends when you have the mic on it. I am using SM57's on it which reall aren't that heavy. My suggestion to Gibraltar would be to offer a option of having a muti-clamp instead of a spring loaded clamp to mount this on a stand. Redesign the wing nuts so they are on the "outside" so you can get a good grip on them to get them tighter. Redesign the rubberised section so it doesn't wobble. LP makes a better shock mount on theirs but their clamps suck. Would I recommend this product? Yes. It has some flaws but for the most part I can work around it. Take care!!
