Quality build...very pleased with the p90 tones...great feeling neck, frets...no sharp edges...you can bend the strings as far as you'd like...no choking out...the bonus is how well it cleans up reducing the volume knob...no loss of high end...it actually adds some...it's a keeper...
I love this guitar

The bad: It's not very pretty, but I do like the color. It reminds me of an old Volvo that sounds better than it looks AND can take you more places than you thought possible. It's the kind of beast to take anywhere except too meek maybe to take home to meet your Mom. This has fast become a favorite as the the P90-like pickups are VERY P90 sounding with all the punch and sparkle but without the 60hz buzz. If you crank the gain way up into heavy distortion you'll hear buzz, but I can make a humbucker buzz under the right settings. That said, the mid-switch position is humbucking... I digress. The guitar has the sound I've been looking for in a P90. It is awesome. After I set it up (was hanging on a GC wall and hadn't been setup at all) and got the intonation right the action was perfect and every note rings true. It's little and mighty and a very affordable way to fall in love with P90's if you haven't already. Very worth the price tag.

I am looking for a good tele style guitar, and I like to use a little to A LOT of distortion. How well would and does this guitar sound distorted? also....are the pick ups able to be swapped for say...Seymour Duncan's??
This is a good option, and yes you can swap out the pickups. Another option to look at is the Schecter PT. It's the Tele shape (without the body contour on the back) it comes with Duncans in it already and it also is coil split for more versatility.submitted6 years ago

The G & L P-90 single-coil pickups are made overseas.
