G&L ASAT Classic BluesBoy Electric Guitar Clear Orange

The patented Magnetic Field Design pickups use a ceramic bar magnet installed underneath each coil, with soft iron adjustable pole pieces to transfer the magnetic field to the surface of the pickup. By contrast, traditional Alnico type pickups, such as used in the Legacy and George Fullerton models, use nonadjustable Alnico pole pieces leaving the only adjustment being pickup height. The Magnetic Field Design has this adjustment, but further offers individual adjustment of each pole piece, letting the player effectively adjust the output of each string on each pickup. Magnetic Field Design (MFD) yield about twice the output per wind, making the pickup quieter while allowing a greater overall output. The sound of Magnetic Field pickups is slightly warmer with a broader frequency response.
One major Nashville session guitarist remarked that G&L Magnetic Field single-coil pickups sounded as balanced and sweet as his favorite old vintage Alnico equipped axe. The difference is that the MFD pickups sound that good right into his amp without all the EQ tweaking of his mixing console that made his other guitar sound so good. When he ran his G&L though his studio rig, he was truly amazed at the rich and warm, yet clear and sparkly sound.

I did a lot of homework for these. I'm a blues rock player that loves humbucker Teles and Strats. At first, I wasn't bought into G&L being Fender done right - but I should have listened. Not sure why these guitars don't get more press (other than comparisons to Fender). This Tele has amazing articulation, the humbucker for this guitar is worth the price just for that. The bridge pickup is clear, chimey, with lots of high-end. I use the middle position for soloing to get the best of both worlds - warm roundness is the neck pickup, and plenty of boost of the upper mids to cut through the mix for soloing. If you love tele bridges and the spankiness they can give you - get this guitar. I also play some Jazz on the neck pickup and it's perfect. Really warm.

I ordered this guitar from my local GC. I wanted the same guitar but in a different color. This is easily one best guitar purchases I've made. I currently own a couple of Gibson's and a American a Tele. I've owned this guitar for a few months now so this isn't honeymoon review. Right out of the box the guitar played great. The Seymour Duncan Seth Lover in the neck is a very sweet warm sounding pickup. I've never owned a custom shop guitar but I can't imagine it being much better than this one. This guitar isn't super cheap but well worth the money for a quality well made guitar.

You just have to try one to believe it, but these are amazing guitars. Great for blues and classic rock. The best 'Telecaster-style' guitar that I've ever played, and I've owned and played a few.

The product description on your website says this guitar comes with a 12" fretboard radius, but the G & L company website lists this product as having a 9.5" radius. I was wondering which is correct, and if it has a 12" radius, if there is an explanation for the discrepancy from the company's standard specs. Thank you.
Sorry for the confusion. This guitar does have a 9.5" fret board radius.
