Description

The Fishman M-200 is an archtop mandolin bridge pickup with a piezo-ceramic pickup element embedded in an adjustable ebony replacement bridge. Fishman ncludes a Carpenter-style 1/4" output jack that mounts on the side of your mandolin. Fishman recommends an impedance matching preamp (not required), and professional installation.

    This pickup sounds great for the money - probably best to run signal through a pre-amp before the PA though, as it requires some gain to hang with a full band. I'm not sure why Fishman didn't drill through the top of the bridge to allow for greater thumbwheel adjustment. My action is in a good place with this pickup and my mandolin, but I can see where it could cause issues. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product.

    I've always trusted Fishman & they didn't let me down. Easy to mount except the top piece was not notched for the strings. They do recommend professional installation and they're right. This is not an easy install for a beginner. The M-200 returns great sound. If anything it may be a little too sensitive. I love it. My only complaint is with the Carpenter-style mount. The first couple times I unplugged it the whole plug came off of the mandolin. It's easy enough to remount, just be careful. I hope to get many years of good service from this Fishman.
