Vintera Series '50s Stratocaster | Vintera Series | Fender

Description
For players who appreciate the mojo of the past matched to contemporary features, Fender created the Vintera ‘50s Stratocaster Modified. Blending classic looks with a modern neck profile and fingerboard radius, hotter pickups and updated electronics, this guitar packs a surprising amount of power under the hood.

For modern Fender tone the designers re-voiced the trio of single-coil Stratocaster pickups, kicking things up a bit by increasing the output. Crisp and articulate, they have the power you need for any style of music. The “Modern C”-shaped neck has a 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets, for modern playing feel.

A contemporary, two-point synchronized tremolo with vintage-style bent-steel saddles offers rock-solid performance and tuning stability. The S-1 switch adds the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2, unlocking even more tonal variety. Other features include vintage-style locking tuning machines, vintage-style strap buttons and chrome hardware. Includes a deluxe gig bag.

This is a great Stratocaster, the fit and finish are on point . The pickups are true vintage tone , the neck is so comfortable . This guitar plays like a modern version of a true fifties guitar. It is a must for any true Stratocaster fan . I would recommend this guitar to a player of any level.

  • Fair pick ups and not a good feeling neck

The pick ups sound fair and the radius is nice...but...I just don't like the feel of the new necks on these guitars. i.e. C modern, deep C or even D. Every guitar I have purchased recently, I wind up having to change the neck out on it and the pups. Fender has very few soft V or mid sixties C necks in an affordable category. these new Vintera and many of the alt universe guitars all play the same and have similar specs. Hey Fender, Let's get back to the classic player 50's strats and maybe come up with a maple mid sixties C neck for those MIM guitars that most of us can afford oh yeah, and a better name for them as well.

Just opened the box. Everything looks ok, but no tremelo arm included. Is this normal for stratocasters? My PRS S2 came with the tremelo arm included?

Can't say enough about this guitar! From the vintage tint on the neck and aged pickup covers - this guitar looks like it built in 1959. Unlike the previous reviewer, the 1-ply pickguard fits perfectly. The neck is smooth ( although I did polish the frets a bit)... the 2-point trem works great - and the pickups have a sweet chime that is indistinguishable from my custom shop start. The S1 switch that ads the neck to positions 1 & 2 works even better than the custom shop blend circuit or the Gilmour mod since it still allows the tone control on the bridge pickup.

The only issue with this guitar is the 1-ply pickguard. It's completely warped on three sides and will need to be warranty replaced as it rasises the pickup height a bit. The pickups are insanely good. The neck is insanely good (american quality). Sounds fantastic out of almost any valve amp i've used and sounds excellent through my Boss Katana MKII 100w.
