I installed these on a 1990's Hohner. The reviews that say the bridge ground wire is too short aren't lying, the bridge pickup ground wire is, in fact, much too short. You either have to replace the wire or splice another section of wire, which is silly considering you're buying a NEW product. Come on Fender, is this really a way to treat customers? The confusing thing is that the other wires are all more than long enough. I'm sure it will sound good, but maybe Seymour Duncan's are a little bit more professional quality. Even the included diagram was convoluted, not that pickup replacement is a difficult task, but the Fender wiring schematic is just too much…

I am on my 3rd set of these and whoever says they dont sound much better than stock Squire is missing some brain cells . I have played them in an American Standard today . and a Squire . They do much better than any stock pickup . To include American Standard . They are as professional sounding as my American Professional also . It has VMODS . I am sure they wont sound to good if the install is compromised . If you want pawn shop level work and product it can be done but I have proper install and good instruments . Get these ,they are made in Mexico and are good pickups .

I had the same issue as someone else one of my wires was way too short, so it seems like it is a semi frequent problem with this product.

The bridge pickup poles were rusted, and the neck pickup was damaged on the bottom plastic piece. Fender box was worn. Returned for refund. Musicians friend customer service was great as always.

These pickups didn't sound much better than the stock pickups that came with my Squier Affinity Tele so I sent them back. On the package, it shows that the bridge pickup was EQ'd with treble lower than the mids and bass and that's what it sounds like. As for the short black wire, it just needs to sit under the bridge plate. Unfortunately, Fender's wiring diagram is wrong. It shows it being soldered to the pot, but that's not necessary.

  • Great upgrade for kit guitars.

Have been building some kits during shelter in place and these are a great, inexpensive upgrade.
