Player Series Stratocaster Demo | Fender

Player Series Stratocaster Demo | Fender

Description
Over the decades, players have been continually inspired by the sound of a Strat. From the clarity of the high end, through the gut punch of the mids and the solid lows, it's a sound that's helped define what an electric guitar should be—versatile enough for any style and broad enough for any player to find an individual voice. This limited-edition Player Series Stratocaster HSS ebony fingerboard electric guitar puts all of the classic features of the Strat at your fingertips while adding a modern edge, including a bridge-position humbucker and freshly redesigned 2-point fulcrum vibrato bridge. With a solid alder body, and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with a contemporary 9.5" radius for easy bending, the Player Series Stratocaster HSS is primed and ready to carry you along your musical voyage.

If you're the kind of Strat player who wants more punch out of the bridge position, this distinctive Fender Player HSS Stratocaster is made for you. It's got that classic look and feel that only a Strat can deliver, with the added muscle of a humbucking pickup, so you can go from glassy single-coil tones to heavyweight growl and scream with the flip of a switch. This special Strat features a cool look with black finish and black pickguard.

I LOVE this Stratocaster HSS!

I've owned several Stratocasters and my first one that I purchased was a 1968 Stratocaster that I have been playing for for 51 years now, so I know a thing or two about Strats. While I will never get rid of my "68 I'm finding myself loving to play this one even more! Yes, as someone pointed out, the frets were ever-so-slightly rough on some edges but I was able to clean the worst ones up carefully with a small file and now it feels great!. That is my ONLY complaint. Other than that minor thing, this guitar plays flawlessly, has awesome action, has a very slippery, fast neck and sounds great! I LOVE the thin neck and ebony fingerboard and the bigger frets. The alnico-5 pickups have that classic Strat sound, true to the original, and sound very much like my "68. To be honest, I never did understand why Fender put 3 identical pickups on their Stratocasters and the addition of the humbucker makes this guitar soooo much more flexible, universal with so much wider variations in tone and that is why this guitar is so much more exciting and fun to play than my "68! Fender should have added the humbucker years ago!!! Don't get me wrong, I still love the chime out of these single coil pickups, and play through them as often as the humbucker, but now I have the best of both worlds! Plus, Fender did a magnificent job of matching the output of the humbucker to the single coils so switching between them only changes the tone and not obnoxiously the volume. Also, the ebony fingerboard is a lot faster than my rosewood fingerboard and the neck is shaped sleeker. Although my old "68 is in very good condition and obviously worth a small fortune, I must admit that I actually love playing this new Stratocaster even more! I think that Fender has a real winner here and I will honestly say that I love the sound of it more than my other newer All-American-made Stratocaster with the noiseless pickups on it because I think the good old alnico-5 pickups on this guitar have that "chime" that is more faithful to my original "68 Stratocaster. The noiseless pickups sound duller to me and just don't have the same attack and clear chime. Both my old "68 and this new HSS Strat have that wonderful midrange sound that cuts through the mix so beautifully. It just plain sounds SWEET! Plus, it looks so good! Definitely two thumbs up!

Gets out of tune

Bought this guitar twice for my son. First one came in perfect condition, only problem was that guitar gets out of tune easily and very often. Son was able to enjoy the guitar since he was just tuning all the time. I returned it no problem within the return policy. Repurchased since it's a beautiful guitar all black. Second one came with finger prints and minor scuffs. Had the same problem with getting out of tune and that's because of the bridge setup. Returned and planning on getting something else.

I bought this "New" but it was anything but. Obviously a floor model, no original box, with grime, gunk, rusted strings and a giant crack from the 4th to 9th frets on the fingerboard. Horrible business practice! Not the first time either! I'm done with GC.

This guitar covers so many of my needs. The Humbucker in the bridge is great for heavy rock and metal tones while position 4 has that Strat sound we all love. The 2 point trim makes my vibrato so much smoother. The fret work is excellent with rounded fret ends and a nice polish.

  • Great guitar, careful about the ebony fingerboard...

Mine came with a thin lacquer matte finish on the ebony fretboard, which is fine although I prefer bare wood. I *might* remove the lacquer someday, but for now the matte finish plays very smooth, so maybe not... Just gotta remember NOT to clean it with any solvent! #sweepstakes

It's nice to see Fender building quality guitars like this that are half the price of the MIAs. Fender has really stepped up their game in the last 20 years. My last two guitars were American; one from 2000 and the other a 2006 HSS with coil splitting. This guitar sounds much better and has more character and soul than they did. I just love playing it. I'm super impressed and love saving money!! All that money I saved was used to install black Fender locking tuners (which fit right in), black Schaller locking straps, and a proper Fender deluxe hardshell case. I swapped out the black tuner keys, nuts and washers with the chrome originals to add a little personality. After a few minor adjustments and a proper setup this thing plays and sounds so good. The ebony fretboard is fast and such a joy to play and that's where the magic happens! I definitely recommend this guitar to anyone - whether you're a seasoned musician or someone who wants to learn on a guitar they can be proud of and continue to grow with. Just buy it man.

Does it come with paperwork this shows it's a limited edition and is there any special case available for this guitar or just standard strat case?

    There is no documentation.
  • asked byOz

    fromGardena CA

    How much does it weigh?

    Open Reply - Thomas
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 6.5 - 7.5 lbs
  • asked byGnoMoney

    fromNew Orleans

Does this guitar have the same hardware as the MIA Strat?

    Open Reply - Thomas
No. This would be hardware made in China. The specs are the same.
