A very solid Bass, awesome neck and great sounding pickups. I am leaving this review because no one has touched on the extremely heavy gauge strings that come on the bass. Steve plays with 50/110 gauge strings and if you plan on changing to medium gauge you will have to replace the nut as the nut is grooved for the 50/100 gauge. This is a problem for the A string notch on the nut and will have to be replaced. The pick ups are also wound for the heavy gauged strings but I love the way they sound with my Favorite strings "DR Strings Hi Beams Medium 4 String Bass Strings 45/105" punchy with great mid range. I replaced the Nut with the Factory Black Fender Nut and I could not be happier. This Bass easily competes with my Fender Elite. Note this is a maple Body and neck and is very heavy, it weighs more than my Elite Jazz 5. Get your polishing rag ready and the Pick guard gets dirty when merely looking at the bass. LOL

I ve owned this bass long enough to say the 2 biggest problems are the neck with the A string needing to be pulled downward at the nut more. you have to take the neck off to adjust the trust rod and the wood is just to stiff(I think they tried to immulate his sound by using some dense wood but uses a guitar speaker).it's not a bad bass but you are paying more for cosmetic stuff

I love this bass!! My only problem was it did not come with the Steve Harris Rotosound Flatwounds, but no biggie. I like roundwound rotosounds, stainless steel strings anyway. This bass is meaty and heavy. If you like a burpy, growling sound-this is for you! Love it!

  • I love it!

A must have for the true hardcore Iron Maiden fan. Plays and sounds fantastic! But I must say, the blue one that came out a few years back is a bit better overall.

Great Sounding Bass only problem is, is you have to take the neck off and tighten the truss rod if you want to use Steve Harris Heavy Gauge Strings because if you don't the neck will bow forward!

How much does this bass weigh since it is made out of Maple?

    Open Reply - Thomas
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass guitars are generally between 8 – 9.5 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be toward the more heavy end.

Hi, Guitar center, check the Schecter site to update the specs you have listed. It's 35" scale, measured it myself. The hardware is black and not gold... thanks
