Now I am a fender guy.
I own a Gibson Les Paul, and I was not a Fender fan. I tried the strat and nothing. But one day I got a tele and it turned me. The neck pick up has a deep and rich tone for those nice blues licks or thick chunk distorted rock chords. The bridge pick up has a nice twang and bightness to it that is not disturbing, pretty nice to play lead rock licks. The maple neck is fast and this guitar is just an over-all comfort to play. I truely recommend this guitar. You get your money's worth. Go out and try one today.

No QC
Quality control was non-existent on this guitar. The nut was miscut, the jack was wonky and the finish had several serious problems. I couldn't believe Fender let this guitar out of the factory. Very happy for Guitar Center's return policy.

I use this guitar all the time. I didn't even get it set up. Right out of the box it was absolutely amazing. It plays any style perfectly. I would strongly recommend this. I have an SG that doesn't compare to this guitar.

I always seem to have it in my hands over my other way more expensive guitars. I put a set of Kent Armstrong vintage pickups in her and it is sweet.

I would like to give 5 stars but there was a few issues. I ordered what I thought would be a new guitar in a factory packed box. Instead guitar was wrapped in bubble wrap loose in a box sent from another GC store. The guitar was missing the plastic top hat knob from the pick-up switch, has small marks in wood at head stock on both sides from display hanging, was never wiped down (full of fingerprints) and oxidized G string. The store I picked it up at wiped it down and gave a pack of 2 top hat knobs. When I got home removed old strings did through clean up and replaced strings. The set up is fine and it plays and sounds great, however I feel that I should have received a store credit since the guitar was obviously an open box item. This is the third guitar I have purchased from GC, the other 2 were pristine. I probably wont do order online pick up at store again after this experience.
I would get another one

This is a great guitar feels good in the hands. Alright the stock pups were ok I decided to change the with the vintage stack and little 59's. Also changed the the pits to 500k. And now it's playing great. It is the same color as my start so it looks cool next to each other.

Does Guitar Center include a free set up on a new guitar such as this? Thank You
Unfortunately, we don't include a free set up with the purchase of a new guitar. However, it should come set up from the factory.submitted8 years ago
