Love At First Feel

I've avidly collected, played, and studied the craftsmanship of guitars and basses for a little over a decade. Gibsons, PRS, Ibanez, ESP, Jackson, Charvel, Epiphone, etc, etc... But let's set up the situation; I was at a new local GC, planning on purchasing a new guitar, with the full intention of it either being a Fender or a Gibson. I tried 28 guitars before I grabbed this one, each feeling wrong to me; the neck felt rough, the neck profile too fat or thick, the pick ups being too muddy or twangy, the balance of how it sat, or was held, etc. Then there was this guitar... I TOUCHED the neck, and immediately felt comfortable with it. I sat down, perfectly balanced as a strat should be, and was able to play every style of music without touching the amps knobs. No feedback and superbly diverse. The high output of the humbucker is astounding: clear cleans, and crispy/groove-laden distortions. The 2 single coils are equally effective for bluesy stuff, expectant of the infamous Strat sound. Then, there's the price: cheap for a finely crafted, highly reliable instrument. Then I got it home, have been actively performing with it (it's better than most American models for 1/2 the price). Because of this guitar, I now endorse Fender and Dean guitars for foreign models. But the real kicker? What's the real difference between this guitar and an American Strat? The distance between Corona, California and the Mexican Fender factory. Of course, there are always cases of rarities, and I always advise playing guitars before buying them, on the off chance you get a dud in shipping. Other than that, 5/5, highly recommended.

not bad

I love strats,Bought this one a while back. Love it only thing that sucked was the factory humbucker kinda sucked for me. I play with a decent amount of gain and It just sounded kinda blah. I changed the pick up for a higher gain pick up,rewired it and now love it. I have other guitars but always come back to this one,I even record with it.

This is my second MIM Strat and have also bought a Squire Telecaster. Let me get straight to the point- this guitar is awesome!!! It has wonderful tones and is very easy to play straight out of the box. The contrast between the hummbucker and the single coil pick-ups gives me a wide range of sounds on every preset on my amp. I consider myself an intermediate player and prior to getting this guitar I would have trouble playing some riffs such as "Sweet Home Alabama," "Johnny B Goode," and some classic ZZ Top riffs. But with the playability of this guitar . . . in one day these riffs were clean. Bottom line: this is a wonderful guitar.

After taking lessons as a kid then just lazily plunking away with old guitars since then, this is my first new guitar in decades and it feels great and is inspiring me to want to play better. I'm sure a Squire would've been enough for someone at my level, but I'm happy for spending a little extra.

I've owned and played guitars since I was 13, 68 years ago. This is by far the most versatile, comfortable guitar I've ever owned. I've had every type from $35.00 Harmonys to OMG Gibsons, even an old Rickenbacher . This one is clearly the best for me. My wife has threatened to see Fender for alienation of affection. Maybe not. I've only had it a couple months. I'll write a follow-up next year if I'm still around. Finger callouses are not terminal.

  • Perfect for blues, jazz, ethnic music, country, rock.

Depending on the model the color of the pickups may be different, but otherwise they would be the same pickups.

Made in America parts? Where does the wood come from? Thanks..Steve

Fender imports their wood from all over the word, but with this guitar the majority of the work would have been done in mexico.
