So much sound in a single amp
This is a fantastic amp. After 10 years of playing and gigging I decided that I was due for an upgrade. I took my time researching and testing many different amps and came upon this one. I wanted an amplifier that could handle any show while giving me a wide range of sounds to choose from. If you are looking for variety of tone and effects look no further. There is so much diversity of sound available in this amp. You can craft pretty much any bass tone imaginable through layering different amp models, effects, compression, etc. all on the LED interface. It takes some time to the hang of it but honestly it's all part of the fun of recreating sounds from your favorite players or making ones all your own. And 800 watts gives you all the power you need for any situation. Plus there's direct out and even USB out for recording. I can't say enough good things about this amp. Try it out and I'm sure, like me, you'll be hooked.

I went to the store to buy the Rumble 500 and I saw the Rumble 800... Spent sometime with it and I ended up buying it. It's a 400W (800W only with extension cab), a bit higher than the 500W (at 350W), however, with a lot of new features. (Bluetooth, wifi, pedal switch). There are several cabinets and pedals to mess around. The tone is not quite as good as analog, but I thought a few of them were good enough for me to displace my pedalboard and only use the pedal switch. (I'll compromise a bit the tone, but will gain in lighter weight and less preoccupation with noise from the pedal board.) BUT... and it's a bit BUT... It worked well for a bit, I played on a couple gigs and everything was alright. HOWEVER, after a couple weeks it would freeze the electronics of the amp for no reason. the sound stops and the control panel and the foot switch don't do anything. Even worse, bc of the electronics it takes about 15 seconds for it to start playing again... Contacted Fender support and they just said: It's rare (which happened 3 times to me in 5 days) and it's a normal behavior as it has a motherboard. just restart it... Well, imagine how fun if the amp decides to freeze during a gig...

I took a leap and purchased this amp to use at home and for practice with friends. I wanted something with more robust sound than my small practice amp. Thrilled with the purchase! Sounds awesome, easy to use, comes with the Fender MGT-4 Footswitch. Preset sounds are a blast to use. Very happy with the decision to purchase it.
Very nice amp!

I got this amp to gig with and it is powerful enough to keep up with a band and super lightweight for it's ability. I like how versatile the settings can be. Obviously this is a solidstate amp so some may not like the quality, but I don't think any of the presets or customized sounds feel weak or cheap. If you understand the amps limitations it is a great amp for a casual or novice gig bassist or a jam amp for band practice. If you do covers there is a bunch of great preset sounds and you can set up playlist so that you can easily change presets according to your bands set list.
Great Amp!

Is there much difference in volume between the 500 and 800?
The 300-watt difference would only be noticeable at higher volumes.submitted4 years ago

Is there a way to only use the amp settings manually and not the "pre-installed" settings-- haven't been able to find a way to do that. The pre-installed is awesome but often I'm gonna want my raw amp sound. Thanks! Jm
