The tone is surprisingly rich and deep for such a low-priced, small combo. I bought it for practicing at home, and two features I really like for that purpose are the "aux in" and headphone jacks. For a living room amp, it goes far louder than I'd ever need it to, and I'm sure it would be fine for acoustic gigs as well. It will obviously never compete with even a moderately loud guitarist or drummer, but that's why I have a big rig at the rehearsal space.

      Excellent Practice Amp

      By Greg

      from ARKANSAS

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I practice a lot at my house, but occasionally like to practice at my office. I needed something that I could toss in the back of my car when I'm on the go. For $99, this is a great little amp. I play all 5-strings and I am impressed how well the 25w 8" can handle the low B. I've played some little amps where the 8" driver "farts out" when hitting the low-low end, this amp handles the B perfectly. This amp is strictly made for personal practice! If you're trying to practice with a drummer... you need to look for something bigger with more wattage! If you're looking for something with great tone that you can transport with ease and don't need a ton of volume... this is it! I was choosing between this and the Ampeg 108 at my local GC, I couldn't tell much of a difference in sound, but this weighed 5 lbs. less than the Ampeg... The weight difference alone was a big selling point for me. The overdrive feature is ok, and the contour button is pretty cool ~ It gives a nice "mid-scoop" or "arual exciter" sound.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

Got it Wednesday, gigged it Friday (acoustic-electric trio) right out of box. No issues, no failure, dialed in fast, used Squire Jag bass. It has an actual, solid, real bass amp tone, just less power and bone-crushing bottom than the usual 100-500W Rumbles so loved by many. Quite usable for smaller venues. Super lightweight, unbelievable. Best $100-150 bass amp, better than many. Buy it without remorse.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I first purchased a small 15w Ibby amp about two years ago. It was used, cheap and right there when I bought my first bass. I thought it was good enough for practicing at home and it was. However, with the more experience I got, I began thinking I'd like a little more punch when practicing at home. I have a 15" GK, but playing that at home (I live in apartment building) or putting in the car to take to a friend's house isn't always optimal. So, I purchased the Rumble 25. I was surprised with how nice this little combo amp sounds. It has some growl to it! Seriously. Also, I would recommend spending the extra money and ignoring the 15w version of this amp. Go with the 25w version. It sounds great for a little 8" speaker. And, it is very light and easy to lug around. I would easily recommend this amp to anyone for practice or very small venues.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I was looking for a small practice amp that I could play without disturbing the hole house, and this one was fit the bill. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is if it had an XLR output that would make this the perfect small amp. Don't waste time looking for anything else for $99.00 its money well spent.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I wanted to learn bass so I got this beginner amp. It sounds awesome. You can't beat the price of it. All of my guitar amps are Fender, so I knew I could get a good sounding cheap bass amp to learn bass on and not be disappointed and I wasn't.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I went to GC to get an amp I could play quietly in my apartment and I picked this up over the Ampeg BA108. First off it screams classic Fender from the silver grill cloth to the knobs. The amp is very light but seems very sturdy. As far as sound goes I'm happy and its got some cool features that you can tweak your sound with. I gave it 4 stars because an overdrive level control would have been nice like the acoustic B25.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

First off, I'm an intermediate bass player. I've played guitar for many years but have limited experience with bass. I use this for just fun, recording, practicing and small venues. It's not really powerful enough to jam in a hard rock or heavy metal band. It's great tho for small venues, a trio and the like. It is however more powerful than expected. As most of you probably know, the headphone out can be used as a line out too. So plugged into a board and run through the PA will work great. Just that the speaker, like most amps, shuts off when you plug in the headphones. For recording it's great, just use the headphone out directly into a line input of your board, interface or whatever. The sounds I get are pretty awesome. For an 8" speaker with it's port is a good match and can produce some deep smooth tones. Example; "Ramble On" by Zep is one of my fav bass lines and this amp can get that tone perfectly. The contour add on is a nice feature. Can get that punchy popping sound. the overdrive is also nice, but no level control for this. But unlike most of my amps with built in overdrive, this one doesn't have all that noise floor. I guess Fender finally figured that one out. It's bigger than it appears in the pictures to me, but still fairly light. The sound is also bigger than what you'd expect from just 25 watts. So right now I'm jamming "Another One Bites the Dust" and thinking "wow, this amp is way cool". It's so simple to use, has a lot of variables and cool tones. I really think this is the best bass amp you can get for a mere hundred bucks. It looks great, sounds great and is just fun to play thru. I've had mine for less than a week and feel I've already got my moneys worth. Got me thinking, maybe I should become a bass player, lol.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I have Parkinsons so need a great but lighter to carry amp, BTW I have a Rumble 150 and don't miss leaving it at home, way too big and heavy. This new design is plenty loud with the sound only Fender can deliver. I've had other brands and none compare or even come close.

Comments about Fender RUMBLE 25 1x8 25W Bass Combo Amp:

I am very pleased with my Rumble 200 which I will still use for large venues, but this little amp sounds great at home for practice and I may use it at small rehearsals. I also like the aux in and headphone jacks in the front for easy access. They are in the rear on my Rumble 200.
