Pretty Nice Case

I bought this case to hold my Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster since it is kind of retro and I thought this case would go well with it. The case is very nice on the outside and seems to be put together well. The leather on the corners may wear over time, but that probably will only add to the retro feel. It gets instant notice when I walk into a building with it. People start to look over your shoulder, waiting to see what it is going to reveal. It also looks great in the room, just waiting to be taken out on a trip. So why four stars? Just a couple of minor things, and if I could, I would have given it four and a half stars. First, the inside compartment lids are a little crooked on mine. They don't really close all the way. It's hard to tell from a distance as the plush interior helps it all blend together. But you can push them down to close them flush and they kind of pop open and to the side a little. Second, it is a little big for my telecaster. The guitar can slide both sideways and front to back. Not much, and the padding is there to protect it, but you can hear it as you move it banging around. Just seems like for that price they could provide you some options to secure your guitar a little better. To make a long story short. If you are looking for something that provides protection for your guitar, looks really cool, and is pretty sturdy, this is your case.

Fits my 2017 Les Paul with a little bit of modification

I wanted a fairly inexpensive hard-shell tweed case for my '17 LP Tribute T and this was the only one available at my local GC, so I tried it out. Snug and a bug in a rug around the body with absolutely no movement at all. The issue (not the fault of the case, since it IS meant for a Fender) is that the headstock rests on the back of the case, without being cradled by the neck saddle. However, this issue was completely mitigated by laying a twice-folded cloth in the neck saddle. This lifted the head-stock off of the case, and now my LP is completely secure within this case. No movement whatsoever. Craftsmanship is so-so. I agree with other commenters that the tweed material shows marks rather easily, and does not appear to be glued well to the substrate material, as there is some bunching and gathering of the tweed material. The lid wobbles a bit when opening and closing, indicating that the hinges may not stand the test of time. For me, this was an on the spot purchase because I did not want my LP in the gig bag it came with, and needed a case immediately. The price at my local GC was around $99 as well....maybe it was a leftover or something. And it sure beats the $200 price tag of a Gibson hard-shell case. Works for me because I'm only carrying it around once or twice a month. I would have reservations about this case if it were meant to be a daily user as I do not believe it would hold up. But for occasional use, it's serviceable, and aesthetically pleasing.

Solid! Good quality. New Telephone fits well and is protected.

  • A good case, much better than a gig bag.

It's a great looking case. The guitar fits well and and for my transport requirements it will do the job. The American Performer Strat definately needed something more that the gig bag that it came in. However, I think the latches could be of a higher quality and the look like leather/plastic ends could be a little thicker.

  • Great fit!

Fender did good with this case. I had previously bought the black counterpart case and it was JUNK. They used cheap Styrofoam inside the case, latches were suspect and so on. Not with the tweed case this time. It's actually greatly improved in quality. Worth the money for sure.
