Fender Player Telecaster Maple Fingerboard Alder Body

Solid Alder Body Produces Balanced Tone

This Tele features a solid alder body that generates a balanced tone with punchy lows and crisp highs. Alder's lightweight, resonant properties highlight the pickups' sonic characteristics, while the body shape, unchanged since the 1950s, is comfortable and familiar.

Fender Player Telecaster Maple Fingerboard Maple Neck

Fast Maple Neck Offers Modern Playability

The satin maple neck features a comfortable Modern C profile and 9.5" radius fingerboard for effortless soloing and bending. The Player Telecaster’s 22 medium-jumbo frets provide ample space for complex chords and melodies. Its neck construction produces the resonant, articulate tones the Tele is known for.

Fender Player Telecaster Maple Fingerboard Maple Alnico V Pickups

Player Series Pickups

Two Player Series Alnico V single-coil pickups deliver the cutting twang the Telecaster is renowned for. The bridge pickup produces a biting tone ideal for rock and country, while the neck pickup delivers warmth perfect for rhythm playing. A 3-way switch lets you choose either pickup alone or combine them for the classic Tele sound that shaped music.

Fender Player Telecaster Maple Fingerboard Maple Bridge

6-Saddle Bridge Delivers Precise Intonation

The 6-saddle bridge provides accurate intonation for chords and single notes across the fingerboard. Steel saddles transfer string vibration to the body, emphasizing brightness and attack. Individual saddle height adjustment customizes action and feel.

Whether you play rock, country, blues or jazz, this Player Series Tele offers tones that are perfect for whatever style you throw at it. This model's contemporary enhancements expand its versatility, while retaining its distinctive sound and style. Musicians wanting a broad-ranging workhorse will appreciate this guitar for life.

Absolutely a Telecaster

Let's see if I can be as objective and helpful as possible with my review... Received my butterscotch blonde tele a couple weeks ago and have come to some conclusions. First, the construction is really great, everything is super solid, bridge and tuners work great so far. The body and neck are of appropriate heft and resonate quite nicely. After a bit of setup, I find that I can't stop playing it! It feels so great to play. The neck shape/size I feel is very appropriate for a tele, not quite modern "c" shape, not as fat as a vintage neck, somewhere in between. To me it feels great, as I think the nut width is just a touch smaller than 1 11/16; I haven't actually checked but it feels that way. If you're into wizard necks and the like it probably won't be for you, but it's a Telecaster after all. The sound: The stock pickups are very, how should I say, "approachable." I would say it has that very basic tele sound. The bridge pickup has a somewhat steely tone with some bite to it. The neck pickup I didn't find to be overly dark sounding, but it is MUCH quieter than the bridge pickup and is a bit hard to balance the two, even adjusting the pickup heights. A lot of people may find them to be a bit too tame. But, I think they are a decent starting point, especially for those of us just starting our voyage with the instrument. Others further along will probably want to change the pickups out, myself included. I would like to point out that a Mexican-made Fender having twenty-two frets is such a long-overdue change and really to me is one of those little-but-not-so-little things that makes a lot of difference. Also, I forgot to mention the fretwork and rolled edges of the fingerboard are quite well done. The back of the neck has a soft, fast satin finish to it while the fretboard has an old-school gloss I think looks really classic. A note as well: the butterscotch blonde finish on mine is definitely more butterscotch than blonde. She's real pretty though...

Fairly poor QC

First one I bought directly from a GC store had a defective truss rod. They sent a new one out to me, it had a major finish flaw. I then went directly to Fender. Next guitar had fretboard issues, as well as the next sent out. I took it to an authorized tech at the local GC which he claimed the guitar was "unrepairable". The 5th guitar sent by Fender got "lost" by fedex. All of the guitars that I had received had rough, unfinished fret ends. I'm not sure what's going on with the MIM QC but something certainly is not right. This was a month long process and a massive headache for me. I'm now waiting for a refund check from Fender.

I own 9 Fender Guitars, mostly American made Stratocasters, a DuoSonic, and three other Telecasters. including a Tele custom, a Tele Thinline, and George Harrison Model released back in 2016. I typically play my Strats, but wanted something standard. I tried the Player Telecaster at my Local GC store and could not believe how nice the neck was and how wonderful the alnico 5 pickups sounded. unfortunately i Did not by that same day and returned the following day only to find out that it had been sold. I purchased a new in box from GC online and received within 4 days. I found i needed to pop the neck as the 1rst E string was about falling off the neck, not sure how it could have passed QC inspection as well as the nut needed some rounding off and required to be cut to lower the action, same with saddles all set very high and the same length which sets intonation via string length. OK, All adjustments made. which took about three hours as I also inspected the real fender switch and full size volume and tone controls. all solder joints and components were fine. It is now one of my favorite guitars to play the 9.5 radius is my favorite neck as it fits my hands perfectly, satin back and super comfortable, outstanding sounding pickups. an incredible value.

I know it's a MIM but mine has a bridge pickup with very weak signal. Pickup works but there's cold solder joints and the switch was poorly wired. Bought it off the wall and it worked in the store. Started acting up when I got it home (go figure). Fixed it myself, but dumb problem!

I now have 2 telecasters made in Mexico guitars. Before I purchased them I played several new American made models and several of the player series models. I found the necks were better or at least as good on the player series models. In addition the hardware on the players were comparable too. I am a hobby player and in a worship band and just wanted a telecaster for its pickups and ease of playing. This Player series was the ticket for me! Good value and easy to play for me who has small hands. Only had to adjust the intonation a bit with the neck tension rod adjustment, and string height was good for me. I highly recommend this made in Mexico telecaster. I recommend playing several and pick out your favorite!!

I've loved Teles since I was 14, and have owned many different T-styles but when it came to finally getting a Fender, the Player personally stood out above everything, even the American models. The neck is very comfortable, it sounds authentically Tele, the "fit & finish" is perfect.
