True to tradition, fantastic Bass!

I needed that meaty tone only a P-Bass can deliver. I picked this up before a gig, put on some flats and played a 2 hour set! Fully intended to switch mid-set but stayed with her. The neck feels great and comfortable vs previous P-Basses to me, my other main Bass is a 98 Mim Std Jazz. The pickup is smooth, warm and punchy, so happy I won't need to replace! Very solid construction and totally simple no frills controls. Only thing I changed was the stock bridge (not necessary, just personal preference). Need a P-Bass? This one will fit the bill!

Looks beautiful sounds great needs better QC

This is my 3rd Fender Bass. I own a 5 string MIM J-Bass and a Aerodyne which were playable after a few minor adjustments and new strings. I must say that I am disappointed with this P Bass. It was not playable out of the box. The strings where horrible, no problem I changed to tape wounds. The neck was bowed and needed adjustments. But most disappointing is the frets are not finished. I've bought Bass guitars for 1/2 the price that were in much better shape than this P-Bass. It looks beautiful. But I've never had a Bass make me bleed before. I'm currently waiting for tools to fix this issue and make it playable. Fender, please don't ship anything like this again. I have Sterling, Schecters, and MarkBass that were setup and ready to rock right out of the box. All at 1/2 the cost. Let's step up and deliver quality.

Great for that classic fender precision bass sound heard on so many classic records like the cure's seventeen seconds. It was setup pretty nicely right out of the box. Putting on flat-wound strings will take it to the next level if you're into the sound of flats. I highly recommended this bass if you're looking for a great precision

  • This is a great bass!!!

I bought this Precision Bass because I was looking for a second bass to upgrade from my Epiphone EB-0. It was in great condition but to my eye it should've been stated as excellent condition. When I first had the chance to plug in a bass guitar of my choice in 2021 it was a Player P-bass in Buttercream and then a Sunburst Player Jazz Bass. The player series cured my stigma that foreign made instruments were inferior to an American made one. Majority of the time the quality is the same. Now in 2023 after being hooked on getting a jazz bass or a Rickenbacker 4003. I plugged in the used P-bass in Buttercream and was amazed. It was well setup. No issues with the electronics. Hardware was all stock. The P-Bass is the one bass that sounds just as good with round wounds on it as flats. Still, I strung it up with Labella flats and continue to be pleased with its sound. I got into music six years ago starting with Badfinger's Straight Up album and I finally found what I call "the bass" for me. And I got a nice case with it too as part of the price.

  • Player Series P-Bass, this one is a keeper

This is my second new player series P bass. The first one I returned within a few days since the nut slots were not cut accurately. So far this one is much better, but im unable to adjust the pickup height easily since the pickup cutouts in the pick guard are too small and rub against the black pickup covers.

  • I already have. This is my 3rd p bass

I traded in a Lakland 44-02 for the p bass. Way too complicated for get any tone. Never achieved the traditional p bass tone I was seeking.
