I'm perfectly happy with my new Stratocaster. Guitar Center made the purchase easy. The pick-up went smoothly. Did I mention LOVE my new guitar??

Got the blue opal. Looks and plays excellent. The Pau fretboard has a nice 'flame' color streak to it. As a woodworker, I like the flame streaks on the rosewood, ebony, and Pau boards, it adds interest, and does not affect function. The frets are nice. The satin neck is straight and smooth as butter. The blue color finish is perfection. The pickups sound great with my amps. With modern saddles, locking tuners, and a gig bag included, this is worth the extra cash over the regular player series. This is 90% as good as my old American Ultra Strat at half the cost. The Mexican factory is state of the art with real craftsmen working there. This thing played right out of the box with no setup required. Thank you Fender.
One of the best guitars I have ever owned.

Best feeling neck I have ever played, this is equivalent to the USA Ultra - in fact, it's probably even better.
I bought this item once. Once is enough.

I have more than one strat style guitar. I am on the fence with weather or not this Player Plus is "plus". Pro- A way to activate the neck PU with the other two is a plus. The gloss finish on the body is very nice. Con- The knob is not conducive to ease of function. All the woodwork has WAVE to it. The fretboard had over spray on the first fret. The fretboard texture was course. The pickguard edge is saw toothed. The edges on the PU poles are rough giving off a hiss sound. To be Frank, I bought this guitar at a discount. Is it worth the amount I payed for it. Pretty much.

Picked this up (in Opal Spark) at my local GC last week. Fit and finish is flawless; rounded edges on the fingerboard make the guitar feel and play like an old friend. Set-up was basically perfect out of the box, including proper intonation. I was skeptical about the noiseless pickups, but they are superb - rich and full in the neck and good spank in the bridge. The best part of the electronics is the push-pull feature on the bridge tone knob; it brings in the neck pickup, which allows you both to replicate the middle position on a tele and, in my favorite tone, to activate all three pickups at once for a unique tone that really can't be produced on most strats. Unlike most strats, the noiseless pickups really handle high amounts of gain beautifully. I'm very pleased with this guitar.
I would look at other models.

I'm really on the fence about this series. It has some nice features, such as a slim neck, stainless steel saddles, and 12" radius fingerboard (if you're into that). It also has features that sink it. The noiseless pickups are lifeless (to me, YMMV) and the push pull tone knob design seems like it was designed by, well, a knob. It's aggressively difficult to grab and switch. If I end up keeping it (which I don't think I will), I'd have to put a tele-style knob on the push pull. I'd also have to put new pickups in, eventually. At that point, I might as well buy an American model. It came also with some nut issues, which the tech at GC fixed for free with a nut file, but c'mon, nuts are one of the most critical and difficult (for layman) parts to address. Guitars are like people, they click with you or they don't. This one is beautiful, but it's definitely got some puzzling choices.
