Comfort and Style Built In
The Fender Player Plus Stratocaster HSS leverages the classic, comfort-contoured Strat body in resonant alder, widely held to be one of the most comfortable body designs in electric guitar history. As a nod to Fender's past, they've also taken an inspiration for the popular "Stratoburst" finish from their early '80s Elite series and updated it, adding a spectacularly eye-catching linear burst finish to the classic Fender finishes already available.A Neck for the Modern Player
The biggest update for the Player Plus Strat is in the neck—the heart of any electric guitar. Starting with the popular Modern C neck profile, Fender has flattened the neck radius to a bend-friendly 12" radius, lightly softened the fingerboard edges and slightly widened the nut to 1.685" for increased ease of play for intricate picking. They've also added medium-jumbo frets to aid lightning-quick runs.New Noiseless Pickups
Another big change from Player to Player plus is the addition of Fender's latest generation Noiseless N4 pickups in the neck and middle positions. These high-output Alnico V pickups can seriously push the front end of your amp, but, just roll back the volume knob a little, and get all the vintage-approved Strat tone you need. Don't worry about losing high end, as the smooth treble bleed circuit keeps all the clarity you have when the knob is wide open. For the bridge, Fender adds a powerful, but smooth Player Series humbucker to deliver the scream and wail you want. With a coil split for true single-coil sounds on a push/pull tone pot, you can also easily scale back to classic Strat tonality.A Whammy Bridge That Delivers
Any Strat needs a great vibrato and the Player Plus Strat HSS has Fender's revered 2-point tremolo bridge with high-mass steel block saddles for added sustain. The 2-point fulcrum bridge is known both for precision and for thick, sustaining tone. It's great for everything from a slight shimmer to full-blown dive bombs. For the Player Plus, that stability is solidified by Fender's locking tuners and a self-lubricating synthetic bone nut.Tricked Out From Head to Toe
From headstock to strap button, the Fender Player Plus Stratocaster HSS delivers a high-performance instrument for modern players, while still being all Strat. It's a great choice for players aspiring to step up to professional features or pros looking for a great-playing, incredible-sounding guitar that's ready to take to the road or the studio.

Can't go wrong with this 'modern' Strat!

The web is full of "MIM strats are way better than MIA". Not gonna go there, but this is one awesome beast! I have an AM Pro2 strat and this comes really close. Not better for sure, but definitely different. The jumbo frets and radius are easy to play and you can bend to tomorrow. Sounds a bit more 'nasty' but still definitely stratty.

I'm not even sure how but this is one of my favorite guitars ever. Even over American Standards, PRS, etc. The value is just unbelievable and this guitar literally feels and sounds perfect in everyway.

This was a used purchase, but still it is a great axe. Th picks ups, locking tuners, rolled edges, and split coil made a great bargain. It holds tune all so well. I had 5 regular player series before getting this, and while all were great, this axe surpasses them. Personally I don't care for the pau ferro board… so I bought the authentic fender player plus neck in maple. All i had did was file the nut and move the tuners over. Boom! Completely changed how it looked. It looks like an ultra deluxe minus the Floyd rose and black head stock. I'd say the neck replacement may be ideal if you go used just cause I noticed the used neck had some truss rod issues. But the new neck eliminated that. Go player plus in silver burst!

I went to GC to buy an American professional and left with a silverburst MIM . I couldn't believe how good this guitar sounded over its much more costly kin. Saved a grand and got more guitar . From the rolled fingerboard to the gen 4 noiseless pickups and fireball split humbucker and its substantial weight/feel, this guitar is a tone monster. I've been playing 47 years now and this axe rivals any strat I've owned. Excellent pro quality for a fair price. If your on the fence, go for it man.
Probably the best deal Fender has right now

This is my second strat - my first I got 20 years ago and was the entry level Highway 1 American strat. I compared them after getting this one and its like finding out an old friend wasn't as good a friend as you had thought. This one simply blows it out of the water. The fretboard is amazing and easy to play. The push/pull and the locking tuners aren't in a similar Fender at anywhere near this price point. The pickups sound perfect to me. Only complaint is that yes, the push/pull is not something you are going to operate quickly.

I'm an intermediate player but have been around guitars a lot. This Player plus is my first Fender and it's incredible. Classic strat tones from the neck and middle single coils and some great rock, even 80s metal tones from the bridge humbucker. Loving this thing. Neck and feet playability is the best I've had. I couldn't justify the small differences between this and the American Pro II. I actually preferred the Player Plus. The bel air blue finish is awesomely different. Jason at GC in Brookfield has been great in my guitar journey. He knows it's up to you in the end, but he's a great guide

How much does it weigh?
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 7 - 7.5 lbssubmitted3 years ago
