Description

The Fender Player Plus Stratocaster HSS electric guitar is an innovative instrument that provides versatile tones and premium playability for guitarists of all levels. Now with an all-new Player Plus series, Fender has redesigned and re-engineered their classic Stratocaster model to provide even more value and performance. The Player Plus Stratocaster HSS delivers legendary Fender tone through its trio of Player Series pickups—a Player Plus humbucker in the bridge and a pair of Player Plus Noiseless Strat pickups in the middle and neck positions. A push-pull pot on the volume control activates the bridge pickup in split-coil mode, allowing for everything from jazz to blues to metal. With an alder body, maple neck, 22 medium jumbo frets and modern C neck profile, this Strat offers comfort and speed.

Versatile Tonal Options for Any Style

The Player Plus Stratocaster HSS provides a variety of tones suitable for any musical style. Its two Player Plus Noiseless Strat pickups deliver the bright, articulate sound that Strats are known for. The bridge humbucker packs a punch for higher-output needs. When the push-pull pot is activated, the humbucker splits into a single-coil for even more tonal options. This pickup configuration, paired with a 5-way selector switch, allows for mixing and matching to create a unique voice.

Premium Playability and Feel

With an alder body, maple neck and pau ferro fingerboard, this Strat has a balanced and resonant tone with clear, bell-like highs. The modern C neck profile provides comfort for chording and speed for soloing. The 22 medium jumbo frets make bending and fretting even easier. A vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge offers subtle pitch adjustment when desired. These premium components come together to provide an instrument that plays as good as it sounds.

Legendary Style, Enhanced Value

The Player Plus series takes Fender's timeless designs and updates them with improved components for enhanced tone, playability and value. This instrument provides professional performance and sound at an affordable price point, perfect for guitarists looking to step up to a high-quality, gig-ready Fender electric guitar.

Very nice playing guitar. Decent factory setup. Rolled neck, satin finish on the neck and the Cosmic Jade green color (very sparkly in the right light) are my favorite features. I love the HSS pickup configuration and it's nice that the humbucker splits, giving you that single coil bridge pickup sound if you want it. I prefer the humbucker in the bridge position for the more rockin' sections. It makes the strat more versatile.

  • Great premium starter guitar that does not suck, once setup

Locking tuners, great neck and an incredibly sexy Cosmic Jade finish that screams rock and roll. The tone? Not so much. Find a good used 80's strat, save a few bucks. This is not the "one".

Playable right out of the box. Fit and finish are excellent. Great job Fender. Jury is out on the pickups, they check the boxes for noiseless, articulate and chimey when played clean — but are a little thin on the bottom end when driven. That's my only nit on an otherwise fine guitar. Worth the money — Yes.

Wanted to hold off on review until I had a chance to play for extended period. Ready to offer opinion now after playing for a couple months. Guitar is solid if not stellar in all aspects. I've had the player strat for over a year now and it is absolutely as good or better than ANY American strat I've ever owned so I was hoping the player plus wouldn't disappoint and it hasn't. Near perfect right out of box. Low action, no fret buzz, straight neck, very playable and comfortable. Frets are polished and smooth, same as my player strat. I love the locking tuners, noiseless pick-ups and coil split on humbucker. Guitar sounds amazing. Because control knobs are tapered it makes the tone knob hard to pull out when coil tapping but it's not a big issue. The cosmic jade finish is flawless and beautiful, it compliments my burst green Les Paul very nicely. I play it mainly thru a boutiqued Blues Deluxe and '68 Deluxe Reverb and I love the sound on both amps and there is no 60 cycle hum due to the noiseless pick-ups that retain the highly sought after legendary strat tone. I can't say enough about this guitar, it has exceeded my expectations. Probably won't buy any more American made Fender guitars, they just aren't any better imho so why spend the extra money. There is no longer any difference in the guitars except for where they are assembled. Thank you Fender for another great guitar.

Wow! I was expecting more at this price point and Fender delivered. Out of the box playable. I have an older MIM Standard Tele and Strat. While great guitars, both needed tweaking to get them right. Not so with this Player Plus. The fit and finish on this guitar is stellar (Cosmic Jade is even better in person than it appears in photos on the web ). Easy playing neck and great factory pick ups. This is literally the first guitar that I have bought that I don't want to change a single thing. I considered going with an American Performer for just a bit more, but went Player Plus for the additional features. The Ensenada team should be proud. This is a stellar guitar. If you are on the fence, do it!
